Politico's Andy Barr Caught Red-Handed "Making Things Up" About Sarah Palin

The corrupt, left wing media is at it again. Andy Barr, a "journalist" reports an absolute lie at the so-called "political news site" Politico. At least this time he names a source, highly unusually for a website that's famous for smearing Sarah Palin, and others, by quoting "unnamed sources."

Barr used the lie to further the blood libel that somehow Sarah was responsible for the mass murders in Tuscon, even though that has been totally discredited. This is what Barr writes:

Palin retreats, won't reload

Palin’s putting the safety catch on her references to weapons in the wake of Rep. Giffords's shooting.

Her speech last night to the Safari Club in Reno was closed press, but thanks to the Reno Gazette-Journal's David Jacobs putting his ear to a closed door, we’re hearing the former Alaska governor’s new line.

Palin dropped the "reload" phrase from her routine, telling the audience of hunters "don't retreat, stand tall" — a shift from her now infamous and well-known "don't retreat, reload" line that played on a loop on cable in the after the Tucson shooting.

In the wake of the tragedy, Palin came under attack for having put Giffords's district in crosshairs on her website.

In Reno, Palin also spoke in favor of gun rights and of her love of hunting, telling the crowd that hunting and fishing is part of American "exceptionalism."

This is, of course, not true. Almost as soon as this BS story broke, a member of Free Republic, SFMom, posted that she attended the event and Sarah not only used her and her dad's trademark line: "Don't retreat, reload" but used it several times.

Rebecca Mansour, who works for Sarah, confirmed via Twitter that the Politico story is "inaccurate" and Sarah indeed used her trademark line.

Is it just me, or is anyone else just a little pissed off this twerp put the word: "exceptionalism" as in AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM, in quotes?

How cosmopolitan of Barr.

Now some people may be asking "what's the big deal?"

Well, there are several. One, this lie creates the false narrative that maybe somehow Sarah feels guilty for an event she had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH, or that maybe she is somehow "effected" or even "cowed" by the attacks on her from the vile left wing media, and the democrat party.

It also gives Barr a chance to continue the lies and blood libel from the Tuscon shootings. To plant that little seed again, that Sarah IS responsible, AND now maybe realizes it herself. That's how these corrupt bastards work.

We make it habit of never believing a single thing written on the pages of Politico .... ever. We always consider anything they write an outright lie, unless it can be verified through many other sources, independently.

It should be noted that while Barr himself may not have been a member of the left wing media conspiracy known as JournoList, Politico is lousy with corrupt JournoListers. Many who have conspired to write false stories about Sarah Palin, and cover up damaging stories about Barack Obama.

The bottom is Sarah Palin has NOT retreated and has ALREADY reloaded. She's loaded for bear and ready to take on the entire bunch.

This little story does, however, serve to remind Americans nationwide that our media is corrupt, and can no longer be trusted.

A Reminder Of Who The Corrupt "Journalists" Are

With the democrat's blood libel against Sarah Palin, it's a good time to remind people who their media partners are. Last year the JournoList scandal broke, as e-mails revealed their was a conspiracy among some of the nation's top "journalists" and members of academia to shape the news to fit the left wing narrative, as well as a concerted effort to harm Sarah Palin, and protect Barack Obama. To hide his radical past, and shady associates, from the American people.

We wrote numerous articles at the time, including: Journolist Media And Academic Members Exactly What You Expected: Communists, Socialists, And George Soros Stooges.

Here are the 151 known members of the JournoList conspiracy. See how many you recognize as contributors to the blood libel of Sarah Palin, and the attacks on all Conservatives, for the actions of a left wing mad man.

Sarah Palin And Glenn Beck Goof On The Continuous Lies Coming From POLITICO and Jonathan Martin, Then Talk About America's Future

Hey, you can lie about me POLITICO, Jonathan Martin, ya punk. You guys can lie about me, but you're takin' on the big guns, you're takin' on Beck. You know, you're an idiot if you take 'em on!

~ Sarah Palin

This is a delightful and fun interview between Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck. Glenn and his producer start out by goofing on the “Sarah is a diva” meme and then Glenn and Sarah rip on Jonathan Martin, one of the many corrupt JournoList members that work for POLITICO. Sarah calls Martin a “punk.”

Once done slicing and dicing that worthless website, the pair talk about the upcoming election and what needs to be done.

Fun stuff.

As to POLITICO, that site has more known members of JournoList than any other publication out there. We've reported before that POLITICO is little more than a propaganda tool for the left, and it's coverage is never to be trusted, without some independent verification by the reader.

Let me put it this way: POLITICO has all of the credibility of the Weekly World News, with none of the entertainment value.

What Sarah and Glenn are talking about is a particular piece of trash written by Jonathan Martin earlier this week entitled “Hurricane Sarah” that alleges all sorts of nonsense. Of course Martin, punk that he is, uses a favorite trick all “journalists” on the left, and particularly the hacks at POLITICO use in almost every story: “unnamed” and “anonymous” sources. "Sources close to the story." In this case, those sources are the voices in Jonathan Martin's head.

This is a long piece that has “anonymous sources” from various campaigns, as well as Beck's staff and others, claiming Sarah was unprofessional, hard to deal with, a diva, and on, and on. Not a single word in this piece of garbage is true, and every single politician and talk show host … oh hell, EVERYBODY, has demanded a retraction and a written apology!

Glenn Beck talked about it at the beginning of his Thursday show:

As Beck says, not one word in this hit piece is true. Not one word! He also demands a retraction.
Mark Levin demanded a retraction, as well, calling the story a “flat out lie”:
This is a flat out lie. Sarah Palin never backed out of any interview with me. Period. And John Martin, the reporter, never contacted me to ask me directly. I insist on a retraction.

Noel Sheppard at Newsbusters has more here.

As both Sheppard and the American Spectator's Jeffrey Lord point out, Sean Hannity has also demanded a retraction. Shepard and Lord both report Jonathan Martin, the low life that he is, is hiding under it's desk, and POLITICO has been silent to calls from Palin, Beck, Levin, Hannity, and the rest, for a retraction and an apology.

Stacy Drake reports that Senator Chuck Grassley and Congressman Steve King, both of Iowa, also call BS on the lies Jonathan Martin is spewing in this piece of trash POLITICO published.

Stacy slices and dices that nimrod quite well in a must read article.

Retracto, the Correction Alpaca over at Andrew Breitbart's Big Journalism weighs in here.

BTW, Jonathan Martin even LOOKS like a punk!

"Sources close to the situation" tell me Johnny molests collies in his spare time.

Look, the bottom line is this: POLITICO is a corrupt, not to be trusted news source. They lie about people, smear people, and just flat make things up, when no actually story exists. Jonathan Martin has a long history of this, and anything he writes should be suspect, including if he writes the sky is blue. That's how poor his credibility is.

The sad thing though is, as much as everyone would love for it to be different, Martin is the rule, rather than the exception, when we are talking about the so-called “main stream media.” The entire American “main stream media” is as corrupt as the day is long.

The bias is unbelievable. Not only do they lie and smear, they often cover up for their friends, and just fail to cover positive stories that matter. This has become such a standard practice that seasoned observers take it for granted, and casual observers don't even realize it.

Whether it's planting bombs on the gas tanks of Chevy pick up trucks, as NBC did, when they couldn't duplicate the urban legend saying they would explode on impact, or creating fake National Guard documents like CBS' Dan Rather and his producer Mary Mapes did 60 days before the 2004 presidential election, trying to corrupt the outcome, this is what they do.

Barack Obama took this to an entirely new level of corruption when he enlisted his now White House Chief of Staff, Pete Rouse to help him bribe a sitting Alaska State Senator with the offer of a job in his administration, if he would cook up an “October surprise” for then Governor Sarah Palin. Rouse even recruited an entire group of bloggers and reporters to make sure every lie was told to the entire world through compliant media outlets.

History shows that Troopegate (or Tasergate as Sarah calls it) was indeed an “October surprise” with the Branchflower Report “findings” being released three day before the 2008 presidential election, and Senator Kim Elton was paid handsomely for his efforts with a make work job in the Department of Interior.

Mission accomplished.

History also shows the Branchflower Report, just days after the election, was completely discredited by independent investigator Timothy Petumenos, on behalf of the Alaska State Personnel Board. The Branchflower Report was a total lie.

This truth has not been widely reported, but the lie has.

As we have seen with NPR's despicable treatment of Juan Williams, these corrupt liars turn on their own when they wander off the plantation. Corrupt and evil.

We are at war in this nation. We have a real life struggle of good vs evil. Liberty and Freedom vs Tyranny and enslavement. National survival and prosperity vs sure destruction and poverty. This is a war we must win.

On our side, we have history and the truth. Conservatism is a proven winner. It has worked every time it's been tried. This nation was founded on Conservative ideas, and the Rule of Law.

The radical left , which has total control of the democrat party, only has lies and delusional thinking.

Unfortunately, they also have near total control of not only the media, but most of academia. Our children are indoctrinated at an early age that America is bad, Conservatism is evil, and Marxism is the plan. The media and our educational system are two very powerful tools the radical left exploits daily.

We must realize this is indeed war, and war for the very soul of the nation. We must understand the media is dishonest, and never trust it. Always verify any story, especially one about a leading Conservative.

This is a war we must win. The nation's very survival depends on it.

What can you really do?

Be aware. Be aware of the lies being told.

Fight back. Refudiate the lies. When you see a writer who lies, call them out. Most online magazines have comments sections. Call the writer out, and point out the truth. Post links in support of the truth. Write letters to your local editors when your newspaper prints lies. Make phone calls to the local radio and TV stations.

If you see someone, even friends, retelling a lie they heard (whether they know it's a lie, or not) correct them. The facts are on your side. Never allow someone in your company to get away with repeating lies they heard in the corrupt media. You may make a few mad, but even more will respect you.

Organize. Get your friends together and make a plan. Set up a local watchdog group to keep an eye on both your local as well an nation media. When you see lies, call the liars out en masse. Never let up.

We can win this, we must win this. But it will be a long struggle. None of this will end on November 2nd, no matter how great our victory. Quite the contrary. The left and it's partners in media and academia will get nastier. They will get bolder in their corruption.

2010 is lost, and most on the left realize that 2012 is almost a foregone conclusion. What they don't lose this November, they are most likely to lose in 2012. Knowing this, and having the feeling they have absolutely nothing else to lose, they will trow everything they have at us.

Everything.

We must be prepared.

Gallup: American's Confidence in Newspapers, TV News Hits Rock Bottom

In the wake of the JournoList scandal where it was revealed that the nation's top "journalists" and members of academia conspired to protect Barack Obama and smear Sarah Palin during the 2008 presidential election, it's not surprising the nation has no confidence in the old, corrupt, "mainstream media." This is the bunch who went out of their way to cover up Barack Obama's entire radical past, from his ties to communism, his racist, anti-American preacher, and his terrorist buddies who tried to blow America up in the late 60's and early 70's.

We've seen how these "sick puppies" went after Sarah Palin's newborn son Trig and what Sarah thought of all of this.

We even learned that after Sarah Palin's speech at the Republican National Convention, where she accepted the nomination for Vice President, the media went into full on panic, and talked among it's members at length, conspiring on the best way to destroy her!

People who have been paying attention have known for decades that the media is incredibly biased. Seasoned observers were not surprised when it was revealed that many of the biggest names in "journalism" and academia have ties to communist organizations and George Soros. (pretty much the same thing)

The latest polling from Gallup shows that across the board, the American people simply do not trust the "mainstream media":

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Americans continue to express near-record-low confidence in newspapers and television news -- with no more than 25% of Americans saying they have a "great deal" or "quite a lot" of confidence in either. These views have hardly budged since falling more than 10 percentage points from 2003-2007.

The interesting numbers are how people of different political ideologies look at the news. Only 18 percent of Conservatives have any confidence on newspapers and TV news respectively, so-called "moderates" are at 25 percent each, while liberals seem to be the most gullible with 34 percent trusting newspapers and 24 percent believing the television news.

You can read the entire polling information here.

CAUGHT ON TAPE: Katie Couric Dissin' Sarah Palin The Day John McCain Named Her As His Running Mate

Not exactly the most shocking thing we've seen, especially since we learned that the more than 400 members of Journolist, from the media and academia, conspired to coordinate attacks on Sarah Palin, as part of the "unofficial Obama campaign", or knowing these same "defenders of the truth" went into overdrive covering up all of Obama radical past. Not even as shocking as learning these same corrupt media members actually realized Sarah was a strong, capable candidate, nothing like the lies they would tell their readers, (and viewers) or how they worried about how to smear her.

Oh, and let's not forget the "Trig trutherism" that ran rampant among this bunch, which Sarah herself addressed.

This does prove what Sarah has maintained all along, Couric was incredibly biased.

From the editors of Conservatives 4 Palin via The College Press. This is raw footage:

As you can see, the video shows Katie Couric preparing to go on the air on the day John McCain announced Governor Palin as his running mate. It shows some tantalizing hints of Couric’s attitude toward the Governor--when talking about first Trig, then Track, Couric says “where the hell do they get these [names]?...” At that point the producer running the sound board shut off the sound because he or she didn’t want to have Couric’s disdainful and contemptuous view of Governor Palin’s children captured on even an internal CBS tape that they never expected would see the light of day. You can tell this by the “OMG!” reaction of the CBS news employees who were in the control room as Couric said that about the Governor’s kids. This video also shows Couric taking a shot at female basketball players and at Governor Palin’s hometown, one of the fastest growing areas in the country, and the fifth largest city in Alaska.

There’s a larger story here, of course.

It’s not just what was said by Couric in her discussion of Governor Palin, but also the way CBS framed the narrative of Governor Palin’s life in their story. The script covers moose burgers, her kids, her being a former beauty queen and being on the cover of Vogue.

Sarah Palin was a sitting governor, and at that time, before the Obama campaign and their allies in the press spent months relentlessly smearing her good name, she had the highest approval ratings of any governor in the country.

She was also responsible for getting the largest energy project in North American history underway after several decades of interminable delays in Alaska. She was a courageous corruption-busting whistleblower who turned in the leader of her own party in Alaska for his corrupt practices.

She was a fiscal conservative who made the largest veto cuts in Alaska history, reined in the reckless waste, cut her own expenses, sold the governor’s private jet, let the personal chef go, and put away billions of dollars in savings for Alaska for a rainy day.

She was a tough CEO who went toe to toe with the Big Oil companies and fought to get the best deal for Alaskans, the resource owners she represented. And she did all of this as a woman from a modest background who was entirely self-made – without the benefit of a rich or influential father or husband.

But what in this impressive biography did CBS News and Couric choose to focus on? Moose burgers and beauty pageants.

By their choice of the framing of the story, it’s evident Couric and CBS had an agenda here: They wanted to diminish Governor Palin because her impressive record of accomplishments towered over the non-existent record of the guy at the top of Democratic ticket.

We know from the JournoList archives that the national press viewed Governor Palin as a threat to their anointed candidate whom they sought to elect with ferocity and determination. We don’t even need to see Couric’s snarky comment about Governor Palin’s children to know that CBS News and Couric were not interested in covering who Sarah Palin was or what her qualifications were, but rather in caricaturing her to influence the election in favor of their favored candidate.

As Governor Palin would say, “may the light continue to shine” to expose this sickness at the heart of our corrupt and biased mainstream media.

There's more history between Sarah and the Perky One, than this bit of childeshness. As Sarah pointed out in her book, there are hours upon hours of video tapes from a series of interviews Couric did with Sarah. Instead of airing all of that footage, CBS and Couric selectively edited it to paint Sarah is the worst light possible.CBS has refused to release the full tapes to either Sarah, or the McCain campaign. (or the media at large) Hmmmm. Wonder why?

Let's also never forget that Perky sat down with longtime Marxist-democrat Sam Nunn, and Council on Foreign Relations president Richard Haas, before she interviewed Sarah, and was coached extensively on just the right sort of "gotcha" questions to ask. Nunn was on Obama's short list for Vice President, and served on his transition team after the election. In other words, Couric sat down with Team Obama and worked out the best strategy on how to question their opponent!

Think about that. Katie Couric, who is supposed to be a journalist, sat down with one campaign, to work out how to interview someone from their competition. Seems to me the Federal Elections Commission should look at this as a "contribution" to the Obama campaign. Either that, or the IRS needs to ask her if she has a 1099 to show her payment from Obama for America, for services rendered.

When you think about it, that's pretty fantastic, and incredibly troubling.

The media in this country is dead. You can't trust a word they say, especially if it comes from the so-called "mainstream media." They are all a bunch of proven liars, and little more than stenographers for the Obama regime.

Corrupt as the day is long.

My Oh My, POLITICO Sure Has A Lot Of Corrupt Journolisters On It's Staff

It's no secret that POLITICO is a biased news organization. The online polictical blog is as progressive as they come. Very agenda driven. In our reporting we have already addressed the fact that Journolist members are solidly entrenched inside POLITICO's upper levels. Something Roger Simon, who calls the website home, tried to downplay.

John Nolte over at Big Journalism isn't buying it, and has a simply marvelous retort:

You say MSM, I say Politico. You say corrupt, I say Politico.

Today, Politico’s Roger Simon was kind enough to almost scold JournoList for its lasting effect on his precious little profession of journalism. At one point, he and the scrupulously non-partisan Chuck “Fire Glenn Beck” Todd hold hands and commiserate over how this unfortunate JounoList thing is tarring “those of us who don’t practice activist journalism.” If Roger Simon wants to rebuild his precious little profession’s reputation, a good start might be asking his very own publisher some tough questions.

Politico might be an online publication, a part of the New Media, but when it comes to corrupted, left-wing arrogance they make the Washington Post look somewhat honest … somewhat. Part of the reason I reserve a special place in my heart to store up a unique resentment for all things Politico is due to the very fact that they practice their dark arts online. Like a toxic virus they spread over to the Internet where the right (by design) and the left (by accident) are trying to forever kill off the very thing Politico is — wolfish left-wing propagandists hidden in the sheeps’ clothing of “journalism.”

And yet these are the same bastards “journalists” who launched a smear attack on a private citizen for asking Their One a perfectly reasonable question, obsessed over Sarah Palin’s wardrobe (and yet ranked Obama being asked about his relationships with Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers as a 2008 top-ten ”media blunder“), and though they occasionally find Levi Johnston worthy of note, Department of Justice whistleblower, J. Christian Adams, remained a ghost up until and including Ben Smith’s factually challenged Nothing-To-See-Here gift to his embattled president.

Oh, and did you know that some of Politico’sjournalists were members of Ezra Klein’s now infamous JournoList, including Mike Allen, Lisa Lerer, and Mr. Ben “I-Got-Yer-Back-Barack” Smith?

And this little juicy nugget of fact raises a troubling question…

What Politico needs to disclose is exactly when their three employees joined JournoList, because now that we know what really was going on there, this Politico article reeks of a cover up.

Written by Michael Calderon in March of 2009 and titled “JournoList: Inside the echo chamber,” even at the time it was written, the thousand-plus worder ranked as another classic example of what Politico does best: write stories about why stories they don’t want covered aren’t worth covering. In other words, like Ben Smith’s Black Panther piece, this is how Politico spikes that which might damage the Leftist narrative.

While reading Calderon’s JournoList expose,’ you can practically hear the staged, self conscious yawn of a man trying to put across the false front that once again those crazy, paranoid right-wing conspiracy mongers have taken him away from oh-so important work to address this nothing-ness.

Calderon’s idea of “journalism” was to interview JournoList members such as Jeffrey Toobin, Eric Alterman, and Joe Klein, who each assure us in their own wrist-flicking way, Tell those silly right-wingers that no one’s pushing an agenda. In 2009 the piece was hilariously obvious in its biased and preordained objective to smoke-and-mirror away concerns about what Ezra’s little coven of left-wingers was up to. But reading it again in hindsight, it stinks to high heaven.

Deep, deep, deep in the article – long after the dull dutifulness of it all is supposed to kill your interest in clicking over to page two, Calderon finally gets around to admitting Politico’s Smith, Allen, and Lerer are members.

And herein lies Politico’s problem.

Now that it’s become crystal clear that at times JournoList was in fact a hotbed for left-wing ideologues to collude over how to kill stories that might hurt Obama, smear innocent conservatives as racist, coordinate lines of attack against Palin, and work directly with the Obama campaign, the question becomes:

What did Politico know and when did it know it?

Three Politico employees were members of JournoList, and yet in March of 2009, Politico published an article where JournoList members claimed nothing improper was going on there — which we now know wasn’t even close to the truth.

There’s only two explanations: Either Smith, Allen and Lerer weren’t JournoList members when this corrupt activity was taking place, or they were, and not only did they not disclose the improper activity but they allowed their employer to print a misleading story.

What did Politico know and when did it know it?

In a truly just world, all 400 plus members of Journolist would join the ranks of the chronically unemployed, but I digress.

Sadly, this is just more proof that it's almost impossible to trust any supposed news source in this country. I know a lot of folks, myself included, tend to frequent blogs and newsers that mostly agreee with our point of view, but we also need fair and balanced news sources that play it straight. Just the facts, no matter who it helps, or hurts. No agenda, just facts. Until this happens, America is in big trouble.

When consuming news these days, to paraphrase Ronald Reagan: Trust, but verify. And go easy on the trust part, and heavy on the verify part.

Sarah Palin Responds To The Media's Vile "Heart Of Darkness"

After reading 15 pages of the vile crap the august members of Journolist spewed out regarding Sarah's beautiful son Trig, I felt sick to my stomach. I can't even comprehend how the Palin family must feel. As we've written before, the rumors were started by members of Barack Obama's hand picked thugs in Alaska, including Jesse Griffin, who was fired from his day care job, due to inappropriate behavior. The media still keeps these stories, as absurd as they are, alive.

I can't imagine just how much reading this nonsense hurts the Palins, but of course, that was the left's point all along. These losers all deserved to be unemployed.

From Sarah:

Journey into the Media’s Heart of Darkness

How ironic that on a day when we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the enactment of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, The Daily Caller released 15 pages of JournoListers’ email exchanges about a dark and demented conspiracy regarding my son, Trig.

It’s tough to fittingly describe these numerous members of the mainstream media who actively engaged in the debate about this conspiracy back when I was first introduced as John McCain’s running mate, and it’s impossible to legitimize any “prominent” media publication that continues to traffic in this bizarre narrative today. It wasn’t just a few fringe characters in that JournoList discussion. It included writers for major newspapers, magazines, and online news publications. Those participating in this immature exchange in attempts to plant seeds of doubt and falsely accuse even included a famous historian.

This JournoList exchange exposes the warped nature of today’s media, thus explaining why many of us are forced, in fairness to the public, to utilize other mediums to communicate until the mainstream media wakes up and begins respecting the public’s intelligence and desire for truth in reporting. There is a sickness and darkness in today’s liberal media. With revelations like the JournoList exchanges, may the light keep shining to expose the problem.

It’s always darkest before the dawn. My hope, therefore, is that today, marking the anniversary of our nation’s attempt to show respect for our brothers and sisters, sons and daughters with special needs, will also mark the beginning of a new, more respectful discourse among members of our media who at least aspire to be fair and objective.

Journolist Media And Academic Members Exactly What You Expected: Communists, Socialists, And George Soros Stooges

This is absolutely no surprise to anyone who has been paying attention. The left consists of the most radical elements of society. We've spoken out for a long time about Barack Obama's own ties to radical communists and anti-American reprobates, and have tried to point out just how dangerous these people are to Liberty and Freedom. Now that Journolist has been exposed, yet another layer of the onion has been peeled back, and we see that a good many of those in the so-called "mainstream media" are fellow travelers, and hard at work spiking stories to follow their radical left wing agendas.

The website New Zeal has compiled a report on the 106 known Journolisters. To no one's surprise, most have ties to major communist and socialist organizations. Some have ties to George Soros, Barack Obama's boss, and partner in crime, and some have even come out in support of murdering domestic terrorist Bill Ayers.

Some of these people you have never heard of, but many of them are people you've probably read on a regular basis.

From New Zeal:

Socialist "JournoListas"

The now closed down JournoList, has caused considerable controversy in recent weeks. According to its opponents, JournoList, teamed up some 400 prominent "progressive" journalists in an effort to smooth Barack Obama's path to the White House.

There have been accusations that "Journolitstas", deliberately sought to downplay Obama's association with the Marxist Rev. Jeremiah Wright and tried to smear conservatives, or opposing journalists as "racists".

This post looks at 106 reported "Journolistas" to look for connections or common threads.

Of the known "Jounolistas" and organizations listed below, many can be linked back to two interrelated groups Democratic Socialists of America, the U.S.'s largest Marxist based organization and D.S.A.'s "brain" the Washington DC based, far left "think tank" the Institute for Policy Studies

Between them. D.S.A. and the I.P.S. dominate or influence several organizations affiliated to JournoList, including;

*The American Prospect - Founded in 1990 by D.S.A. affiliate Robert Kuttner. Current editor at large is leading D.S.A. member Harold Meyerson

*Mother Jones - Includes D.S.A. member Adam Hochschild on its Board of Directors, plus some D.S.A. affiliated staff and contributors. Hochschild was a supporter of Progressives for Obama

*Economic Policy Institute - Led by D.S.A. member Larry Mishel and I.P.S. affiliate Jeff Faux and several D.S.A. affiliated board members. This organization has contributed at least three officials to the Obama Administration, including Obama economic adviser and "Journolista' Jared Bernstein.

*Center for American Progress - Several staff and officials are affiliated with D.S.A. and the I.P.S. Writing of the Center's relationship to the Obama Administration, former Weather Underground terrorist leader and Progressives for Obama supporter Mark Rudd said "There's a whole govt. in waiting that Podesta has at the Center for American Progress. They're mostly progressives, I'm told..."

*The Nation - Edited by I.P.S. trustee Katrina vanden Heuvel, who presides over an editorial board which includes D.S.A. members Norman Birnbaum, Barbara Ehrenreich (also an I.P.S. trustee) and Deborah Meier, plus I.P.S. affiliates Tom Hayden and Roger Wilkins.

*In These Times - Created by I.P.S. and run mainly by D.S.A. members and affiliates. Based in Chicago, I.T.T.'s board of editors includes former Weather Underground terrorists and Obama associates Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn
.
*Progressives for Obama - Established by D.S.A. members Barbara Ehrenreich, Tim Carpenter and Bill Fletchers, Jr. Ehrenreich and Fletcher are also I.P.S. affiliates, as were two more of P.F.O.'s six founders Tom Hayden and Danny Glover.

*Campaign for America's Future - Founded in 1996, by several dozen D.S.A. members and I.P.S. affiliates, C.A.F. is a major coordinator of the U.S. "progressive" movement. In recent years it has organized several major Take Back America and America's Future Now! conferences in Washington DC -which are attended by the cream of the U.S. progressive movement, including Barack Obama himself.

Apart from the D.S.A./I.P.S. connection, leftist institutions like the The New Republic and the New Century Foundation are well represented. There are two known connections to George Soros' Open Society Institute.

Many major newspapers are also represented, as is national public radio, CNN and a host of leading "progressive" blogs and websites and leftist media "watchdog" Media Matters.

[ .... ]

JournoList, was not just a bunch of "liberal' journos with too much time on there hands.

It was a network of high level opinion makers, united by a "progressive" vision for America. They believed that their superior judgement and insight, obligated them to present Americans with a view of reality, that they would be too stupid and reactionary to grasp unaided.

At least a few, perhaps many, were committed Marxists who saw journalism, not as a profession, but as a revolutionary tool.

This disgraceful episode should dispel forever the "progressive" lie, that the American MainStreamMedia and its "liberal" core, can be trusted to uphold the objective standards of their profession.

New Zeal has extensive links to back up this is all up. To read the names and see the hundreds of connections, check out New Zeal here.

As stated above, this is more than just a bunch of sloppy journalists and overpaid "professors" with time on their hands. This is a group that conspired to bury damning information about Barack Obama, and conspired to make up lies about Sarah Palin, in order to influence the 2008 presidential election. And ... IT WORKED!

That should send chills down your spine.

These are the same sorts that conspire to push all of the radical leftist agenda. They are dangerous revolutionaries who should not be allowed to pose as journalists or teachers.

These radicals have destroyed the integrity of their "profession" and destroyed the trust of the American people. They have perverted their First Amendment rights completely. They have spit on both the Constitution and the American people. They should all be run out of the business.

We can never trust the so-called "mainstream media" again.

Panic From Journolist Over Sarah Palin's RNC Speech: "She's Golden" Now How Do We Destroy Her? Plus, Trig Trutherism To The Max

When Jonathan Strong and the Daily Caller started releasing information from Journolist, we knew it would get interesting, especially when it comes to Sarah Palin. Anyone who has watched the news since Sarah was introduced to the world has known the media has been going crazy trying to figure out how to stop her. They actually did a decent job of smearing her among casual, and mostly uninformed viewers. Many of the lies told stuck, at least for a time.

Today Strong shows us what this cabal of over 400 "mainstream journalists" and members of academia really thought:

Sarah Palin’s speech to the 2008 Republican convention impressed more than a few doubters, including even some members of Journolist, an online community for liberal journalists.

This speech is gangbusters,” wrote Ari Melber of the Nation. “Her tone is pitch perfect.” Adele Stan of the Media Consortium agreed: “Palin is golden.”

The exuberance appeared to unnerve the Guardian’s Michael Tomasky. “People get a hold of yourselves!” Tomasky wrote to his fellow Journolisters. “It’s a very good speech with good lines. But there’s very little substance.

Rebecca Traister of Salon wrote to say she was grateful for Tomasky’s message. (“This is a reassuring sentiment, since at the moment, I feel like we’re in End Times.”) But the rest of the country apparently didn’t agree. Polls a few days later showed Obama’s lead in the race had narrowed to virtually nothing.

Palin’s speech had been remarkably effective. This troubled members of Journolist. On Sept. 8, 2008, five days after Palin’s national debut, some members of the group discussed producing coordinated propaganda designed to wound Palin and boost Obama.

At an appearance in Colorado immediately following the convention, Palin had remarked that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac had “gotten too big and too expensive for the taxpayers,” a point that seems commonplace now, but that at the time struck some as controversial.

Ryan Avent, then a freelance blogger for the Economist, now an editor there, complained that Obama’s supporters were missing a chance to attack. “If we were the GOP, we’d be taking this opportunity to shout long and loud how unprepared Palin is—‘She doesn’t even know what Fannie and Freddie are…in the middle of a housing crisis!’….That’s the difference in the game as played by us and by them.

Michael Tomasky responded: “So why aren’t Dems doing that? Just wundrin’.”

Luke Mitchell, then a senior editor at Harper’s magazine, asked Tomasky if his paper would be able to help: “Michael – Isn’t this something that can be fanned a bit by, say, the Guardian?

Tomasky didn’t think it would work. “The Guardian? You’re kidding right? Remember the Clark County letters?” he wrote, referring to a failed attempt by the Guardian to elect John Kerry in 2004 by asking Britons to write letters to voters in a pivotal Ohio county.

Mitchell replied: “Fair enough! But it seems to me that a concerted effort on the part of the left partisan press could be useful. Why geld ourselves? A lot of the people on this list work for organizations that are far more influential than, say, the Washington Times."

Open question: Would it be a good use of this list to co-ordinate a message of the week along the lines of the GOP? Or is that too loathsome? It certainly sounds loathsome. But so does losing!

Ezra Klein of the Washington Post, the founder of Journolist, quickly jumped in: “Nope, no message coordination. I’m not even sure that would be legal. This is a discussion list, though, and I want it to retain that character,” he wrote.

Mitchell replied: “Fair enough, Ezra! The list is great at as it is and I didn’t mean to suggest anything out of bounds. I am still curious about the reluctance of the left media to organize, though. The message discipline on the right seems to be one of its key advantages.

David Roberts of Grist seemed to scold Roberts for his idea: “Just read past messages on this list, Luke. Everyone here is a /journalist /or an /independent analyst/. Their job is to /say what they think/, not to support Obama. Suggest that they focus on more electorally helpful — and equally true — messages, and they will bridle.

Yet almost immediately after writing these words, Roberts sounded somewhat less than independent himself, referring to the Obama campaign as “we”: “I’m not bashing,” he wrote. “I’m guilty too. I just despair. We’re going to lose again, for all the same damn reasons.”

Ed Kilgore of the Progressive Policy Institute, another supposedly “independent analyst,” did the same, even outlining specific talking points: “It requires no particular strategic genius or ‘message coordination’ to recognize that we and the Obama campaign have the next two months to demonstrate that McCain and Palin represent the status quo party, the status quo ideology, and status quo policies,” he wrote.

While other members of the group debated whether to coordinate a pro-Obama message – or, more precisely, whether to concede that such a message was being coordinated — Todd Gitlin of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism had already made up his mind. Gitlin, whose job is to train the next generation of America’s most elite journalists, wrote this impassioned plea on behalf of the Obama campaign:

On the question of liberals coordinating, what the hell’s wrong with some critical mass of liberal bloggers & journalists saying the following among themselves:

McCain lies about his maverick status. Routinely, cavalierly, cynically. Palin lies about her maverick status. Ditto, ditto, ditto. McCain has a wretched temperament. McCain is a warmonger. Palin belongs to a crackpot church and feels warmly about a crackpot party that trashes America.

Repeat after me:

McCain lies about his maverick status. Routinely, cavalierly, cynically. Palin lies about her maverick status. Ditto, ditto, ditto. McCain has a wretched temperament. McCain is a warmonger. Palin belongs to a crackpot church and feels warmly about a crackpot party that trashes America.

These people are cynical. These people are taking you for a ride. These people are fakes. These people love Bush.

Again. And again. Vary the details. There are plenty. Somebody on the ‘list posted a strong list of McCain lies earlier today. Hammer it. Philosophize, as Nietzsche said, with a hammer.

I don’t know about any of you, but I’m not waiting for any coordination. Get on with it!

In an interview, Gitlin conceded he was noting the “features of McCain and Palin most worthy of highlighting towards the end of defeating them.” He said he had never advocated “bending facts” to get Obama elected.

Amazing stuff huh. Gitlin, who teaches journalism claims he wasn't for "bending facts" to get Obama elected, but as we know now, none of the Journolisters had a problem with covering up facts about Barack Obama and his radical associations, or branding anyone who dared bring them up a racist!

Obviously Ezra Klein, the creator of this group, was doing a bit of CYA here. "Now boys, you know we shouldn't coordinate." (wink-wink) From there everyone went back to what they were doing. One thing is obvious, Sarah's incredible speech put the media on the defensive. In fact, she called them out during her speech. Pretty obvious that while the media adopted the "Palin is stupid" mantra, for public consumption, in private, they knew she was anything but.

This proves beyond a doubt the old adage: The media will point out who they fear the most, by who they attack the hardest. Reagan was treated the same.

The Daily Caller also released the raw e-mails from this group concerning Sarah's new son, Trig, and how this bunch dove neck deep into "Trig-trutherism" the sick thought that Trig was actually Bristol's baby, not Sarah's. This was a rumor started by one of Barack Obama's hand picked Alaska Mafia members, Jesse Griffin, who along with The Atlantic's Andrew Sullivan, has turned "Trig Trutherism" into a cottege industry. Strong has 15 pages of e-mails discussing this nonsense. That these people would spend that much time discussing this shows you the type of mentality we are working with here.

To be fair, many of these Journolisters said leave it alone, and others suggest different ways to "get her" like the fact she had her photo taken with wounded soldiers. "That would hurt her with her base" said Mark Kleiman who is Professor of Public Policy in the UCLA School of Public Affairs.

If nothing else, reading these e-mails is a good look into the moonbattery that exists among the nation's media. Check 'em out here.

Sarah Palin Takes On Journolist’s "Sick Puppies"

Forget freedom of speech and freedom of the press if these yahoos ever get their way in America. It seems... http://fb.me/CLbbf8bf

~ Sarah Palin commenting on Journolist members via Twitter

As we’ve already discussed, from the very day Sarah Palin was announced as John McCain’s running mate, the dishonest and corrupt "mainstream media" has been on a coordinated mission to destroy her. Jonathan Strong, who has penned all of the Journolist articles for the Daily Caller was able to get Sarah Palin’s take on this scandalous breech of trust by our so-called "guardians of the truth.":

From a remote location on an island off Alaska’s coast, former Governor Sarah Palin is blasting what she describes as the "sick puppies" in the media who immediately and ruthlessly attacked her when Sen. John McCain picked her as his running mate during the 2008 presidential campaign.

In exclusive remarks to The Daily Caller, Palin described "hordes of Obama’s opposition researchers-slash ‘reporters’" descending upon Alaska in the days after she was picked by McCain.

She said the media became a key reason she decided not to finish out her term as governor and faults, in part, the McCain campaign for failing to vigorously defend her.

Palin chose to be a public figure at the highest level, as a candidate in a presidential campaign, arguably inviting the most intense scrutiny imaginable.

Yet TheDC revealed posts from Jounolist that show liberal journalists coordinating attack lines against Palin from the moment McCain picked her, suggesting she may have had the deck stacked against her.

Palin said she sensed the vitriol coming from campaign reporters at the time.

"It was too obvious to me, my family, my administration and anyone else who knew me (and my record) that we were in a defenseless position the minute I gave my acceptance speech and the hordes of Obama’s opposition researchers-slash ‘reporters’ had descended upon Alaska," Palin told The DC.

Please note that more than 64 "reporters" were air freighted to Alaska to dig up dirt on Sarah Palin. Too bad no one was left to look into Obama’s racist, anti-American preacher of 20 years, or his mentor, and ghost writer of his first book, the murdering domestic terrorist Bill Ayers.

Read more here.

Palin, whose conflicts with key McCain campaign staffers are infamous, said the campaign could have stood by her more firmly.

"To not have had the McCain campaign staff defend my record was an insurmountable challenge, because once a bell is rung, it’s impossible to un-ring," Palin said.

Regarding a television interview with Katie Couric widely seen at the time as a turning point in the public’s perception of Palin, which critics argued illustrated Palin’s inexperience, Palin said the interview was selectively edited.

"It didn’t help, either, that the hours and hours of interviews with the likes of Katie Couric resulted in a few minutes here and there of selected snippets of my annoyed answers. (I naively had not believed at the time of some of the badgering questions [for example, questioning my pro-life position] that the editing process would fulfill their biased purpose)," Palin said.

Not to mention the Perky One was well coached before she interviewed Sarah by Sam Nunn, a member of Team Obama, who was not only on his short list for Vice President, but worked on his transition team!

Palin says the feeding frenzy culture of the media galvanized her political opponents in Alaska. "The media incentivized political opponents to file false ethics charges and expensive, wasteful, frivolous lawsuits against me, my family and my staff, in an obvious attempt to destroy us," Palin said.

Sarah is talking about Obama’s hand picked Alaska Mafia, which you can read about here.

When those lawsuits — which Palin said she won, but the media didn’t cover — caused legal costs in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, Palin had finally had it, she said.

"I said, ‘Enough. Political adversaries and their political friends in the media will not destroy my State, my administration, nor my family. Enough.’ I knew if I didn’t play their game any longer, they could not win. I would not retreat, I would instead reload, and I would fight for what is right from a different plane."

This is where the genius of Sarah Palin shines through. Seeing a no win situation, she handed the ball off to her very capable Lt Governor, Sean Parnell, and has had both the media, and the Obama regime on the defensive ever since.

Since resigning as governor, Palin has become a Fox News contributor, while questions swirl about whether she’ll run for president in 2012. Though critics say she is avoiding scrutiny by shying from tough questions of the media establishment, she says she’s "starving the beast" on purpose – intentionally avoiding the outlets she says burned her as a candidate.

"With the shackles off, I relish my freedom to call it like I see it, while starving the media beast that was devouring the false reports about me, my staff and my loved ones," she said.

But even in her new life in media, the memories still seem to sting. She blasted the "sick puppies" in the media who attacked her and says they "need help."

"The lamestream media is no longer a cornerstone of democracy in America. They need help. They need to regain their credibility and some respect. There are some pretty sick puppies in the industry today. They really need help," Palin said.

Palin said that behavior of the media, in betraying the tenets of journalism – also betrays her son’s decision to serve his country overseas and protect the rights of Americans.

"I have lost all respect for the ‘mainstream’ media because they lied; and still lie. And they abuse America’s freedom of the press — because with freedom comes responsibility. My son chose to put his life on the line to defend that freedom, and I feel like his, and every good soldier’s, efforts are thrown in their faces when the press takes advantage of their sacrifices instead of respecting the freedoms they’re willing to die for," Palin said.

In case you wonder, Sarah’s concern for and disgust with the nation’s "mainstream media" not only comes from being a target of their vicious lies, but also from that fact that she is a journalism major herself, and understands intimately the sacred trust journalists are bound to honor.

Sarah's love and respect for our brave men and women in our armed forces is well known, and as you read this her disgust at the dishonest media is palpable.

Personally, it’s inspiring to watch this woman fight these people, as well as every other threat to Freedom and Liberty. No one else out there, certainly none of usual suspects mentioned as potential contestants in the 2012 presidential derby, so vigorously defends Freedom, Liberty, and the Rule of Law, like her.

The nation would be well served with Sarah Palin as our Commander-In-Chief.

On The Day McCain Introduced Sarah Palin, The Media Started Coordinating Their Best Lines Of Attack. More Journolist Revealed

This seems to me like an occasion when the non-official campaign has a big role to play in defining Palin, shaping the terms of the conversation and saying things that the official [Obama] campaign shouldn’t say – very hard-hitting stuff, including some of the things that people have been noting here – scare people about having this woefully inexperienced, no foreign policy/national security/right-wing christia wing-nut a heartbeat away …… bang away at McCain’s age making this unusually significant …. I think people should be replicating some of the not-so-pleasant viral email campaigns that were used against [Obama].

~ Daniel Levy of the Century Foundation and Journolist contributor

The big news on Thursday, from the Daily Caller’s series of exposés, is the corrupt, dishonest media has colluded to take Sarah Palin down since the day John McCain introduced her to the nation, and the world.

In other breaking news, water is wet.

Look, we have been writing about the attacks on Sarah for a long, long time. We have thoroughly documented the attacks on Sarah by the Obama regime, coordinated by Pete Rouse, whose office is only a few feet from the Oval one.

We’ve written extensively about the network of hate bloggers who were given complete access to some of the nation’s best know websites to spew their insane hatred and lies about the Governor. We’ve also well documented the fact Team Obama tasked these malcontents and reprobates with the job of recruiting people to continually file bogus ethics complaints against Governor Palin, and her staff, which you can read more about here.

With that said, the exposure of Journolist takes everything to a higher level.

As we pointed out in our piece, The Day Journalism Died, where we discuss Journolist, and some of the many ways the so-called "guardians of truth" have conspired to lie to the American people on any number of issues, Team Obama was heavily involved with the take down of Sarah Palin.

One of the things done was having Sam Nunn, a high ranking Marxist-democrat, someone who was on Obama’s short list for Vice President, sit down with Katie Couric before she conducted her many hours of interviews with Sarah. Nunn spent a considerable amount of time coaching the Perky One before she interviewed Sarah, helping her craft the very best "gotcha" tactics.

Think about that a minute. This supposed "guardian of the truth" this "trusted new anchor" for CBS actually sat down with a member of the opposing team, before interviewing the potential next Vice President of the United States, in an effort to derail her candidacy.

As an American, this should be of great concern to you.

Let’s not even get into the fact that hours of the taped interview were chopped up and edited to paint Sarah in the worst possible light.

As we look at the latest, remember, even though only a few names are mentioned, there are over 400 members of this "august body" and all of them participated and benefitted from the collaboration. There are some of the biggest names in "journalism" on this list.

Before we look at what these people were up to, the author of this piece, Jonathan Strong, appeared on Thursday’s Fox and Friends to discuss these attacks on Sarah:

In the hours after Sen. John McCain announced his choice of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his running mate in the last presidential race, members of an online forum called Journolist struggled to make sense of the pick. Many of them were liberal reporters, and in some cases their comments reflected a journalist’s instinct to figure out the meaning of a story.

But in many other exchanges, the Journolisters clearly had another, more partisan goal in mind: to formulate the most effective talking points in order to defeat Palin and McCain and help elect Barack Obama president. The tone was more campaign headquarters than newsroom.

The conversation began with a debate over how best to attack Sarah Palin. "Honestly, this pick reeks of desperation," wrote Michael Cohen of the New America Foundation in the minutes after the news became public. "How can anyone logically argue that Sarah Pallin [sic], a one-term governor of Alaska, is qualified to be President of the United States? Train wreck, thy name is Sarah Pallin."

This nimrod can't even spell her name, but she's the train wreck.

Not a wise argument, responded Jonathan Stein, a reporter for Mother Jones. If McCain were asked about Palin’s inexperience, he could simply point to then candidate Barack Obama’s similarly thin resume. "Q: Sen. McCain, given Gov. Palin’s paltry experience, how is she qualified to be commander in chief?," Stein asked hypothetically. "A: Well, she has much experience as the Democratic nominee."

One very interesting thing, and we've seen this from day one, both Team Obama, and the media, treated Sarah as if she was at the top of the ticket, the presidential nominee, rather than VP, right from the start. She was rarely compared to Biden. More times than not, she was compared only to Obama.

"What a joke," added Jeffrey Toobin of the New Yorker. "I always thought that some part of McCain doesn’t want to be president, and this choice proves my point. Welcome back, Admiral Stockdale."

Daniel Levy of the Century Foundation noted that Obama’s "non-official campaign" would need to work hard to discredit Palin. "This seems to me like an occasion when the non-official campaign has a big role to play in defining Palin, shaping the terms of the conversation and saying things that the official [Obama] campaign shouldn’t say – very hard-hitting stuff, including some of the things that people have been noting here – scare people about having this woefully inexperienced, no foreign policy/national security/right-wing christia wing-nut a heartbeat away …… bang away at McCain’s age making this unusually significant …. I think people should be replicating some of the not-so-pleasant viral email campaigns that were used against [Obama]."

Read that last paragraph again. If you didn’t have a chill run down your spine, there is something wrong with you. Rather than being concerned with learning more about Sarah Palin, her outstanding record as a public servant, and all of the accomplishments she had amassed, and how to tell her incredible life story to the world, these people saw themselves as part of Barack Obama’s "unofficial" campaign team, whose duty was to defeat her.

These are people crafting lies, propaganda, that would rival the best one could find in Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia, or Woodrow Wilson’s "progressive" America.

What we are witnessing here isn’t a bunch of sports reporters hanging around the locker room after a game and overhearing the team shoot the bull. No, this is the reporters, sitting down with the team, and going over the play book with them, and asking how they can help.

Ryan Donmoyer, a reporter for Bloomberg News who was covering the campaign, sent a quick thought that Palin’s choice not to have an abortion when she unexpectedly became pregnant at age 44 would likely boost her image because it was a heartwarming story.

"Her decision to keep the Down’s baby is going to be a hugely emotional story that appeals to a vast swath of America, I think," Donmoyer wrote.

Politico reporter Ben Adler, now an editor at Newsweek, replied, "but doesn’t leaving sad baby without its mother while she campaigns weaken that family values argument? Or will everyone be too afraid to make that point?"

Please note "sad baby" is most likely a typo by Adler, we believe he meant to write "said baby." Unlike the way these freaks operate, we’ll give Adler the benefit of the doubt here.

Anyhow, how many times during the campaign did you hear various reporters and other "experts" lament that it was wrong for Sarah Palin to be running for Vice President, when she had young children? Bear in mind, Joe Biden tragically lost his wife when his kids were quite young, and he commuted daily to D. C. for his job as a United States Senator. Nothing was even said of that, nor should it have been.

Of course, as we all know, while politicians' kids are normally off limits, those rules were thrown out the window with Sarah and her family. These "journalists" trashed her for "parading her kids around" and "forcing them in the spot light" while at the same time doing puff pieces of the Obama children who were equally "paraded around" and "forced into the spotlight."

Blogger Matt Yglesias sent out a new post thread with the subject, "The line on Palin."

"John McCain picked someone to help him politically, Barack Obama picked someone to help him govern," Yglesias wrote.

Ed Kilgore, managing editor of the Democratic Strategist blog, argued that journalists and others trying to help the Obama campaign should focus on Palin’s beliefs. "The criticism of her really, really needs to be ideological, not just about experience. If we concede she’s a ‘maverick,’ we will have done John McCain an enormous service. And let’s don’t concede the claim that [Hillary Clinton] supporters are likely to be very attracted to her," Kilgore said.

Amidst this debate over how most effectively to destroy Palin’s reputation, reporter Avi Zenilman, who was then writing about the campaign for Politico, chimed in to note that Palin had "openly backed" parts of Obama’s energy plan. In an interview Wednesday, Zenilman said he sent the information as a means of promoting a story he had written for Politico.

Chris Hayes of the Nation wrote in with words of encouragement, and to ask for more talking points. "Keep the ideas coming! Have to go on TV to talk about this in a few min and need all the help I can get," Hayes wrote.

Suzanne Nossel, chief of operations for Human Rights Watch, added a novel take: "I think it is and can be spun as a profoundly sexist pick. Women should feel umbrage at the idea that their votes can be attracted just by putting a woman, any woman, on the ticket no matter her qualifications or views."

Mother Jones’s Stein loved the idea. "That’s excellent! If enough people – people on this list? – write that the pick is sexist, you’ll have the networks debating it for days. And that negates the SINGLE thing Palin brings to the ticket," he wrote.

Another writer from Mother Jones, Nick Baumann, had this idea: "Say it with me: ‘Classic GOP Tokenism’."

How utterly pathetic is this. Let’s see, Sarah Palin was the Governor of our largest state, and a damned successful one at that, so this bunch sought to portray McCain’s pick as "desperation"? Funny thing, I haven’t see Joe Biden do a lot of "governing." For that matter, we haven’t seen much of that from the community organizer either!

It’s really interesting how the nominally female member of the "Ministry of Truth" went straight for the sexism angle. Must have been out of race cards that day. Let’s see, here’s the first woman ever chosen to be on a presidential ticket for the Republican party, and instead of being impressed, and proud, Suzanne Nossel had to try and spin it as a bad thing.

They were right though, this narrative was discussed, ad nauseum, throughout the campaign. And as we see now, totally fabricated.

It’s almost comical, by the way, to picture Chris Hayes pathetically begging his fellow propagandists for more ideas on how to smear Sarah. These people really are losers.

Kilgore wasn’t sold: "I STRONGLY think the immediate task is to challenge the ‘maverick’ bullshit about Palin, which everybody on the tube is echoing. I’ll say it one more time: Palin is a hard-core conservative ideologue in every measurable way."

[ ... ]

As the morning wore on into the afternoon, some on Journolist came to believe the Palin pick had been shrewd. Palin was coming off as appealing and a maverick, they worried.

"Okay, let’s get deadly serious, folks. Grating voice or not, ‘inexperienced’ or not, Sarah Palin’s just been introduced to the country as a brave, above-party, oil-company-bashing, pork-hating maverick ‘outsider’," Kilgore said, "What we can do is to expose her ideology."

And there you have it, when all other thinking started to fail, the went back to the default position these people use on every conservative. "Oh, she’s a far right ideologue." and "She’s dangerous!" The left said the same things about Ronald Reagan. These people haven’t had an original thought in 100 years!

Of course, anyone who has studied Sarah Palin, and her career as a public servant, knows she is anything but. Oh, she has some very strong personal beliefs, but when it comes to governing, the Constitution is her guide, not her "feelings." It’s the left that runs on feelings, not logic, or the Rule of Law. For them, emotion trumps all. It is hilarious to see them so desperate to stop Sarah they fall back on lines of attack older than they are.

There is so much more to this, which you can read here.

Just how egregious are all of these coordinated attacks against Sarah Palin by these "guardians of truth"? Even noted OB/Gyn Andrew Sullivan has cried foul!

What readers need to realize, is this is a lot bigger than Sarah Palin, or even the vile, malicious attacks she’s experienced non-stop since she was selected for the national stage. What we have witnessed by the nation’s media was a coordinated effort to make sure their candidate ended up in the most powerful job in the world.

These so-called journalists, threw their integrity away, and abused the trust of the American people to make sure their guy, a clearly unqualified, and inferior candidate, Barack Obama, won over an eminently superior and highly qualified candidate, Sarah Palin.

These revelations should shake America to it’s very core. This should be setting off alarms everywhere. Sadly, I wonder if people will really understand the magnitude of all of this. The dangers these people are to the very existence of the Republic.

A free and honest media is essential for Liberty and Freedom to survive. Honestly, at this point, much of our media is little more than a stenography pool for the Obama regime. As one looks back in history, one of the first things would-be dictators do is seize control of the media. They must control the message completely.

Many times this is done by force, but every now and then, the media become "useful idiots," not realizing that tyrants, once in complete control, usually eliminate all freedoms of speech, and communication, thus eliminating them. There are led like lambs to the slaughter.

There are over 400 members of Journolist. Out of those 400 plus, we know the names of sixty-five of them. While some are obscure, and unknown to many of our readers, some are quite prominent. You’ll recognize names of people who work for Time, CNN, the Washington Post, the New York Times, The Nation, Newsweek, and more. See how many you can pick out below:

A Poem

A poem expressing the celebrated "love" and "tolerance" the left is famous for. These are actual quotes from members of Journolist

The Day Journalism Died

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Amendment I U.S. Constitution, ratified December 15, 1791

We are blessed as a nation. Our founders recognized that all men we born with certain unalienable rights. Rights granted to us by Nature’s God, our Creator. The purpose of the United States Constitution is to protect the citizens of our Republic from a government that would restrict or try to take away our rights. We all know the Marxist-progressive movement, now headed by Barack Obama, has been trying to usurp our Constitution, and enslave the people, for decades, but that’s another discussion for another time.

Along with freedom of speech, freedom to worship as we please, and the freedom to assemble, a free and honest press is one of our most sacred rights. In fact, a free and honest press is essential for this Republic to survive. Without it, people can’t trust the information they receive and can never trust their government.

Moreover, a free and honest press should serve as a watchdog. Our media should keep an eye on our government, no matter who is in charge, and hold them accountable when they run astray. They should not be cheerleaders for one side or the other. Just the facts.

This is not to say there isn’t a place for opinion journalism. In fact, part of a free press is it’s ability to have a robust debate of ideas. The problems occur when opinion media, and just plain old yellow journalism, mix with so-called "straight" reporting.

The first time most of us heard of Journolist was when someone anonymously outed Dave Weigel, a supposed reporter who worked for the Washington Post. Weigel, whose job was to cover Conservatives for the paper, was best know to our readers for siding with Sarah Palin’s deranged stalker, Joe McGinnis, and trashing Sarah for not being happy she had a freak of nature living next door to her.

What we learned was Journolist was a formal e-mail list where many of the nation’s prominent "journalists" collaborated on stories, strategized against Conservatives, and shot the bull.

Someone, evidently angered by something Weigel had done, outed him, and many of the incredibly nasty e-mails he had written. This painted Weigel as a really hateful Marxist-progressive, who obviously was incapable of covering Conservatives properly because of his incredible hatred of them. In the end, WaPo showed Weigel the door.

By outing Weigel though, the first rule of Journolist was broken: Never talk about Journolist!

You ask any Conservative on the street and they will tell you there is massive bias in what Sarah Palin calls the "Lamestream Media." Anyone who paid attention during 2008 saw that the media covered up absolutely every negative thing about Barack Obama, often times refusing to even report some incredibly serious defects in the man.You can credit the media for helping Obama become President.

At the same time, the media went into overdrive trying to absolutely destroy Sarah Palin. This unprecedented effort is still underway today. Our readers are well aware of the part Obama played in this, as he had his closest advisers recruit bloggers, who were then given access to the media, to spread hate and lies at warp speed. We also know Obama’s people recruited a bunch of nerdowells to continually harass her as Governor, filing dozens of bogus ethics complaints. This is well documented, and you can read more here.

There’s one more thing though, that hasn’t gotten as much play. Remember the heavily edited Katie Couric interviews. The ones that were edited to make Sarah Palin look as stupid as possible? Well, creative editing isn’t the only thing that went on there.

Before The Perky One interviewed Sarah, she sat down with long time Marxist-democrat Sam Nunn, and was heavily coached on just the right "gotcha" questions to ask. This is noteworthy because Nunn was reportedly on Obama’s shortlist to be Vice President, and became part of Obama’s transition team after the election.

Can you imagine if  Sean Hannity spent some quality time with say, Sarah Palin, working on the strategery of how to play "gotcha" with candidate Barack Obama? The outrage would be palpable, and yet, few if anyone bothered to report on the fact that Couric sat down with a member of Team Obama in order to craft an interview that would hurt their opponent’s chances!

That’s sort of big news, don’t you think? You can read more here.

Anyone paying attention knew that not only was the media biased toward the Marxist-progressive agenda, but in many cases were actually working with the Obama regime to advance that agenda. In many instances, members of the media have become little more than stenographers for Obama and the rest of the Marxists.

Ed Shultz even claims that the White House is constantly in e-mail contact with the MSNBC show, Morning Joe! We also know that several top anchors for the networks participate in daily conference calls with the White House communication’s staff.

Still, as much as one could just feel it in their bones that all of these people coordinated their efforts, there was no real proof until Journolist was outed.

It just so happens Tucker Carlson’s Daily Caller has secured an incredible amount of information about Journolist, including e-mails that are being gone through, and released to the public.

The first revelation, was the amount of effort Obama’s media partners went through to kill the story of Reverend Jeremiah "God Damn America" Wright, Obama’s racist, anti-American preacher of 20 years. Wright was one of Obama’s closer mentors, and the one who married him and Michelle. Obama even had his second ghost written book named for one of Wright’s infamous rants.

So inflammatory was Wright, the media knew they had to make sure America never saw this person. EVER.

From The Daily Caller:

Documents show media plotting to kill stories about Rev. Jeremiah Wright

It was the moment of greatest peril for then-Sen. Barack Obama’s political career. In the heat of the presidential campaign, videos surfaced of Obama’s pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, angrily denouncing whites, the U.S. government and America itself. Obama had once bragged of his closeness to Wright. Now the black nationalist preacher’s rhetoric was threatening to torpedo Obama’s campaign.

The crisis reached a howling pitch in mid-April, 2008, at an ABC News debate moderated by Charlie Gibson and George Stephanopoulos. Gibson asked Obama why it had taken him so long – nearly a year since Wright’s remarks became public – to dissociate himself from them. Stephanopoulos asked, "Do you think Reverend Wright loves America as much as you do?"

Watching this all at home were members of Journolist, a listserv comprised of several hundred liberal journalists, as well as like-minded professors and activists. The tough questioning from the ABC anchors left many of them outraged. "George [Stephanopoulos]," fumed Richard Kim of the Nation, is "being a disgusting little rat snake."

Others went further. According to records obtained by The Daily Caller, at several points during the 2008 presidential campaign a group of liberal journalists took radical steps to protect their favored candidate. Employees of news organizations including Time, Politico, the Huffington Post, the Baltimore Sun, the Guardian, Salon and the New Republic participated in outpourings of anger over how Obama had been treated in the media, and in some cases plotted to fix the damage.

In one instance, Spencer Ackerman of the Washington Independent urged his colleagues to deflect attention from Obama’s relationship with Wright by changing the subject. Pick one of Obama’s conservative critics, Ackerman wrote, "Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares — and call them racists."

Those are some big names in that pile. Notice how fast these Marxist-progressives rushed to play the race card, when no racism existed? This is straight out of Alinsky’s Rules For Radicals, and we all know these people worship Alinsky! They are doing the same thing now as they seek to paint all Tea Party Patriots as racists. It’s rather sad and pathetic. It’s also a disservice to every victim of real racism.

There’s more:

Michael Tomasky, a writer for the Guardian, also tried to rally his fellow members of Journolist: "Listen folks–in my opinion, we all have to do what we can to kill ABC and this idiocy in whatever venues we have. This isn’t about defending Obama. This is about how the [mainstream media] kills any chance of discourse that actually serves the people."

"Richard Kim got this right above: ‘a horrible glimpse of general election press strategy.’ He’s dead on," Tomasky continued. "We need to throw chairs now, try as hard as we can to get the call next time. Otherwise the questions in October will be exactly like this. This is just a disease."

(In an interview Monday, Tomasky defended his position, calling the ABC debate an example of shoddy journalism.)

Thomas Schaller, a columnist for the Baltimore Sun as well as a political science professor, upped the ante from there. In a post with the subject header, "why don’t we use the power of this list to do something about the debate?" Schaller proposed coordinating a "smart statement expressing disgust" at the questions Gibson and Stephanopoulos had posed to Obama.

"It would create quite a stir, I bet, and be a warning against future behavior of the sort," Schaller wrote.

Tomasky approved. "YES. A thousand times yes," he exclaimed.

The members began collaborating on their open letter. Jonathan Stein of Mother Jones rejected an early draft, saying, "I’d say too short. In my opinion, it doesn’t go far enough in highlighting the inanity of some of [Gibson's] and [Stephanopoulos’s] questions. And it doesn’t point out their factual inaccuracies …Our friends at Media Matters probably have tons of experience with this sort of thing, if we want their input."

This is pretty shocking. These people actually wanted to make other journalists afraid to ask the tough questions, lest they be ostracized by their peers. This is rather evil. BTW, for those that don’t know, Media Matters was founded and is funded by Barack Obama’s boss, George Soros. Readers know all about George Soros and Crime Inc.!

Jared Bernstein, who would go on to be Vice President Joe Biden’s top economist when Obama took office, helped, too. The letter should be "Short, punchy and solely focused on vapidity of gotcha," Bernstein wrote.

In the midst of this collaborative enterprise, Holly Yeager, now of the Columbia Journalism Review, dropped into the conversation to say "be sure to read" a column in that day’s Washington Post that attacked the debate.

Columnist Joe Conason weighed in with suggestions. So did Slate contributor David Greenberg, and David Roberts of the website Grist. Todd Gitlin, a professor of journalism at Columbia University, helped too.

Journolist members signed the statement and released it April 18, calling the debate "a revolting descent into tabloid journalism and a gross disservice to Americans concerned about the great issues facing the nation and the world."

The letter caused a brief splash and won the attention of the New York Times. But only a week later, Obama – and the journalists who were helping him – were on the defensive once again.

Jeremiah Wright was back in the news after making a series of media appearances. At the National Press Club, Wright claimed Obama had only repudiated his beliefs for "political reasons." Wright also reiterated his charge that the U.S. federal government had created AIDS as a means of committing genocide against African Americans.

It was another crisis, and members of Journolist again rose to help Obama.

There is a lot more to this piece, and believe me, it will make your skin crawl. These are some sick puppies, truly hate filled losers. You can read the rest here.

Andrew Breitbart, who is creating a new gold standard for investigative journalism, had this to say:

Reporters at Pravda weren’t this insufferable

Journalists love whistleblowers. Just not when the whistle is blown on them. Journalists love transparency. As long as they’re not the ones being exposed.

No journalistic steadfast rule is unbendable when it comes to justifying and protecting the racket that is modern journalism, specifically, political journalism in the United States today. The ends justify the means for the Democrat Media Complex. They lie when they claim to be objective. They lie when they claim to be unbiased, because these so called "truth seekers" are guilty of engaging in open political warfare. And when the whistle is blown, they simply double down. "Journolist" — like Media Matters, but more insidious, if that’s possible — is an attempt to put the genie back in the bottle.

Talk radio and the Internet have allowed outsiders the ability to challenge a multiple generational shift from journalism being about the story, to journalism being crafted toward a partisan end. From Newsweek killing the Lewinsky story to the Swift Boat veterans (until the undermedia pressure got too big) to the Dan Rather implosion to the open attempt to keep the Al Gore masseuse story under wraps to the John Edwards/Rielle Hunter debacle to the Van Jones admission of missing the story to the networks ignoring the ACORN video footage to the media playing up trumped up charges of racism in the Tea Party — while ignoring exculpatory evidence to the mother of all media-as-political weaponry: the non-vetting of candidate Obama, the mainstream media has shown that it is in an ideological death spiral. And the ground is right here.

Sarah Palin has weighed in:

It’s encouraging for commonsense conservatives who are frustrated with media cover-ups and biases to see truth revealed.

Remember the infamous "JournoList" – the listserv chat group of hundreds of "prominent" mainstream media personalities? It seems The Daily Caller obtained copies of the JournoList email exchanges from the 2008 campaign having to do with the media’s coverage of Rev. Jeremiah Wright, then candidate Obama’s pastor of 20 years. It’s everything you may have suspected.

Read more here.

Glenn Beck also weighed in. His discussion about Journolist starts at 5 minutes 30 seconds into the video.

Glenn Continues:

So where do we go from here? It’s obvious that you can’t trust the "Lamestream Media" any longer. You can’t trust the newspapers, you can’t trust the network news, or outlets like CNN and MSNBC. That leaves us with Fox, and the new media. And frankly, one should trust, but verify what you see there!.

I find myself reading international news more and more, as certain media in Great Britain, Canada, and even Russia have become more reliably honest than our own news sources. If you are reading this, it means you have a computer. Do what we do, if something doesn’t smell right to you, go and do some research. Bing is your best friend!

The one thing I try to do is research past the known left wing websites, and such, and try to get as close to the original source as possible. It’s even better if one can find things in their original text, or hear people’s own words.

We are blessed to live in an era where, if we work hard, we can find the actual truth, but we must be actively engaged. We can no longer lazily consume and digest the news. We must actively seek to separate the truth from the lies, and make our decisions based on the truth.

As I write this in the early morning hours, The Daily Caller has just published a second installment of what will almost assuredly be a series of articles based on the thousands of e-mails between those on the Journolist. We can’t wait to see what they have on these people regarding Sarah Palin!

Liberal journalists suggest government shut down Fox News

If you were in the presence of a man having a heart attack, how would you respond? As he clutched his chest in desperation and pain, would you call 911? Would you try to save him from dying? Of course you would.

But if that man was Rush Limbaugh, and you were Sarah Spitz, a producer for National Public Radio, that isn’t what you’d do at all.

In a post to the list-serv Journolist, an online meeting place for liberal journalists, Spitz wrote that she would "Laugh loudly like a maniac and watch his eyes bug out" as Limbaugh writhed in torment.

In boasting that she would gleefully watch a man die in front of her eyes, Spitz seemed to shock even herself. "I never knew I had this much hate in me," she wrote. "But he deserves it."

Spitz’s hatred for Limbaugh seems intemperate, even imbalanced. On Journolist, where conservatives are regarded not as opponents but as enemies, it barely raised an eyebrow.

In the summer of 2009, agitated citizens from across the country flocked to town hall meetings to berate lawmakers who had declared support for President Obama’s health care bill. For most people, the protests seemed like an exercise in participatory democracy, rowdy as some of them became.

On Journolist, the question was whether the protestors were garden-variety fascists or actual Nazis.

"You know, at the risk of violating Godwin’s law, is anyone starting to see parallels here between the teabaggers and their tactics and the rise of the Brownshirts?" asked Bloomberg’s Ryan Donmoyer. "Esp. Now that it’s getting violent? Reminds me of the Beer Hall fracases of the 1920s."
We must note that at this point the only violence that had occurred was when a bunch of purple shirted union thugs from the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), acting on Obama's instructions to "punch back twice as hard," brutally attacked Kenneth Gladney, a black man, who they beat unconscious, while calling him a ni**ger. But of course, who cares about details when you are a bunch of dishonest swine like those who inhabited Journolist.

Richard Yeselson, a researcher for an organized labor group who also writes for liberal magazines, agreed. "They want a deficit driven militarist/heterosexist/herrenvolk state," Yeselson wrote. "This is core of the Bush/Cheney base transmorgrified into an even more explicitly racialized/anti-cosmopolitan constituency. Why? Um, because the president is a black guy named Barack Hussein Obama. But it’s all the same old nuts in the same old bins with some new labels: the gun nuts, the anti tax nuts, the religious nuts, the homophobes, the anti-feminists, the anti-abortion lunatics, the racist/confederate crackpots, the anti-immigration whackos (who feel Bush betrayed them) the pathological government haters (which subsumes some of the othercategories, like the gun nuts and the anti-tax nuts)."

Read more about these amazingly deranged hatemongers here.

It’s amazing to visualize the amount of hatred the left spews. It’s their nourishment. Their very oxygen. It also boggles the mind to hear this bunch of Marxists compare the American people to Nazis! Kind of funny when you consider that the word Nazi comes from Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei or National Socialist German Workers' Party. Now who is it again that sides with the labor unions against American businesses and the American people?

It's doublely ironic that this bunch can call the American people Nazis, while at the same time plotting ways to convince the government to crush free speech, and shut down Fox News!

One doesn’t have look real hard into the early Nazi movement to see some serious parallels with the modern day Marxist-progressives and the Obama regime. We’ve went over this many times, and Thomas Sowell makes the comparisons quite nicely, which you can read here.

This leads one to more commentary, and a question. We know Marxist-progressives and their agenda are downright evil. Are these so-called "mainstream journalists" who make up the Journolist just as evil, or are they simply what the communists used to call "useful idiots"?

We may never know.
