No Wonder Chris Christie Didn't Join The Fight Against Obamacare!

Well, well, well ....

Looks like another myth about Chris Christie [that he's a "fiscal conservative"] has been busted.

Remember when the You Tube celebrity governor made a point of saying he wouldn't join in the multi-state lawsuit against ObamaCare? At the time he said it was because he was so busy in New Jersey and he felt he didn't have the time. Making You Tube videos is hard, evidently.

Conservatives were rather perplexed at the time. It wouldn't have cost NJ any money to join in the lawsuit and having a state like NJ in the mix would have only strengthened the position of those states suing to have ObamaCare invalidated. Say what you will, but Christies celebrity status, as dubious as it is, would have been seen as a plus for those fighting to stop the Obamacare fiasco.

Many wondered why would the so-called "conservative", Christie, who never misses an opportunity to grandstand, would shy away from one of the biggest fights, with one of the biggest stages to show off on.

Dan Riehl points out why Christie chose to stay away from the fight of our lifetime. Far from being a fiscally responsible conservative, Christie ... like most progressives ... looks for the American taxpayer to bail him out, rather than work hard to fix the situation, like Wisconsin's Governor Scott Walker has so brilliantly done.

Christie supporters love to point out that Christie "tackled the union problems" concerning pensions and health care. Well, let's see just how Christie did this:

Is This Why Christie Didn't Join ObamaCare Suit?

So, Christie "derides" ObamaCare? I honestly didn't know that. He certainly hasn't made it a key issue, also failing to join the many states that sued over it. On the other hand, his application for $39 million under it was treated "favorably" - and they're already after another $40 million for this year. Hmm, New Jersey is second only to California in terms of the dollars it received from it to prop up its ailing public worker health insurance fund.

Oh, and the program encourages states to continue the program, apparently. Imagine that. Well, that's not quite as bad as Mitch Daniels, who expanded public health care in Indiana, I guess. But it's close. Christie can't afford to do it, ... for now.

New Jersey’s beleaguered public worker health insurance fund got a nearly $39 million cash injection last year from a piece of the controversial federal health insurance law that Governor Christie derides as "Obamacare."

Christie’s administration aggressively pursued the funding, a Treasury Department spokesman said, and is seeking payment for another $40 million already this year.

"We had to compete against other employers for the proceeds," spokesman Andrew Pratt said in an e-mail. "Our application … got comparatively favorable treatment because it [was] filed very quickly after the application process began in July."

New Jersey ranked second, behind California, among state governments receiving payouts from the Early Retiree Reinsurance Program, according to a recent report issued by the Department of Health and Human Services.

The program reimburses public- and private-sector employers and labor union benefit funds for some of the cost of providing health insurance to early retirees between ages 55 and 65.

The funding was designed to encourage employers that were providing early retiree insurance to keep doing so because coverage for older people who are not |yet eligible for Medicare can be prohibitively expensive, according to an HHS spokesman, Keith Maley.

So, while Christie talks tough about ObamaCare to his You Tube fan boys, he's actually taking tens of millions of dollars, taxpayer dollars, to shore up his failing state, from the very program he claims to be against. I think the word hypocrite was invented for a guy like Christie!

A lot of people have been fooled by this phony. We haven't. Stacy Drake, while taking Christie's fan boys to task, points to the many ways Christie is no Conservative, fiscal or otherwise. Among some of the things she cites:

* His budget passed only after three conservative Republicans were bullied into voting for it and the savings achieved in the budget were done at the expense of new taxes, new fees, federal Stimulus funds and accounting gimmicks; the 2% property tax cap will actually cause taxes to skyrocket; he has yet to propose the "across the board" tax cuts he promised as a candidate; the budget actually INCREASES state expenditures by 6% and the number of staff in the Governor’s office making $100,000 per year increases by ten;

* His confrontation with the unions is pure Kabuki theater with nothing accomplished but acrimony; he has yet to lay off a single state employee and his proposed 2011 state worker reduction plan is little more than window dressing;

* He has populated his cabinet with notorious liberals while firing the only true conservative – after slandering him;

* He has endorsed notorious RINO candidates in the 2010 mid-term election while avoiding (with one notable exception) contact with conservative candidates;

* He supports a multi-state Cap & Trade scheme known as the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative and is so committed to Cap & Trade that he used funds raised from RGGI’s carbon auctions to help balance the budget; he has directed that state funds be appropriated to subsidize "green" technology ventures such as off-shore windmills;

* He has refused to join other state attorneys-general in a joint lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Obamacare while accepting federal funds for the implementation of a similar program on a statewide level;

* He is on record saying that he does not believe illegal aliens are here illegally; he has indicated that he supports amnesty for illegals; he generally favors strict gun control and he supports construction of the Ground Zero Mosque even as he condemns those who oppose it.

While Stacy points out Christie's support for the Ground Zero Victory Mosque, a poke in the eye to every American effected by the 9/11 attacks, we discovered his Dirty Ties To Hamas-linked Islamic Supremacists, which explains just how much Christie is involved with these terrorists and promoters of Sharia Law in the United States. Christie actually appointed someone who believes Sharia should be the law of the land to the NJ Superior Court!

Though Christie may thrill his fans on You Tube, we feel it's imperative for serious people to take a look at Christie's actual record. Once you turn off the spin, and celebrity hype, you find this so-called "conservative Republican" is really just an old fashioned liberal democrat, who loves big government and wouldn't know real conservatism, fiscal or otherwise, if it walked up and bit him.

One more case of style over substance, something that is epidemic in American politics.

We need leaders, not self-promoting media celebrities who can't deliver anything but hype.

Chris Christie: "I love collective bargaining"

From Mercury News:

HILLSBOROUGH, N.J.—Gov. Chris Christie, long at odds with unions over his budget-cutting ways, said that he's ready to start negotiating with state worker unions—and that he "loves" collective bargaining.

Christie said at a town hall meeting in Hillsborough that New Jersey is very different from Wisconsin, where a debate rages over whether that state's Republican governor is trying to break unions by getting rid of collective bargaining. Christie said he has never suggested that collective bargaining rights be taken away.

Just the opposite, said Christie, a darling of the Republican Party.

"In fact, I love collective bargaining," Christie told the crowd Wednesday, packed into a room in the municipal building. "I've said let's get rid of civil service and let everything be collectively bargained, as long as collective bargaining is fair, tough, adversarial and there's someone in that room representing you."

After accusing former Gov. Jon Corzine, a Democrat, of being too cozy with the unions, Christie said there would be a different tone this year.

"Let me at them. Get me out of the cage and let me go," Christie said.

Chris Christie talks a good game to his fans on You Tube, but it seems when the rubber meets the road, he's just another typical squishy RINO who doesn't have the cojones to really do what must be done.

"Let me at them. Get me out of the cage and let me go,"

Seriously, who is he trying to kid here. Like most bullies, he talks a big game, but again, one of the real issues before us is the out of control public sector unions, and how they are bankrupting the states with outrageous demands through collective bargaining. Governors in Wisconsin, Ohio, and other union states are trying to end the practice, and yet Christie is all for it.

F.D.R. Warned: Allowing Public Sector Unions Collective Bargaining Rights "Unthinkable and Intolerable." So did early union officials.

This is where Christie's over-sized ego is about to cause him massive trouble, as well as trouble for New Jersey. Let's say, for the sake of argument. Christie can actually negotiate something with these unions.

I know, I know, just bear with me.

Let's say his awesomeness gets it done. As soon as he gets defeated in an election, the next guy can come in and undo everything Christie has done. And with New Jersey's voting history, that will most certainly happen.

It's interesting that for all of Chris Christie's big talk, he seems to be all hat, no cattle. When it came time for New Jersey to join the fight against ObamaCare, he declined. This wouldn't have cost New Jersey any money, or effort. It would have just added their name to the long list of states suing the federal government, and would have certainly added to that effort. Christie didn't have the guts to do it.

Now we see that when the heat is on, and while other Governors are standing firm against the unions and WILL end their destructive collective bargaining practices, Christie wimps out.

Maybe if Christie would concentrate less on creating sound bites for his You Tube fans, and more on actually governing, he might get some where. So far the only thing we get from Christie is a lot of bluster, but no results.

Sarah Palin: "Heck yeah, I'm thankful for all of these Common Sense Conservatives who serve"

Sarah Palin was on America's Nightly Scoreboard with David Asman Friday night. Asman asked her about You Tube celebrity Chris Christie right off the bat, mentioning the fact Christie claims he wasn't inspired by anyone in the Republican Party. Sarah tells Asman that she finds great inspiration in the Common Sense conservatives who are willing to serve, then she offers this up:

And with all due respect to Governor Christie, you know he has no choice but to cut budgets because he’s broke, his state is broke. What courage really is, is in the face of having a surplus when you have opportunity to spend spend spend other people’s money, you still choose to reign in government to let the private sector soar. That’s real courage, and by the way that’s what I did as Governor here when I engaged in hiring freezes and reduced earmarks by 86% and vetoed the largest amounts in our state’s history. Despite having a surplus that’s real leadership and that’s courage.

But I do appreciate that Governor Christie is willing to face the reality in his state and that is that they are going bankrupt. So he has to cut, he has no choice.

Christie's thin-skinned fan boys lost it when Sarah said this and accused her of attacking their guy. Never mind the GOP's flavor-of-the-month has been talking trash about Sarah for months, trying to ingratiate himself with the D.C. cocktail set.

In his latest nonsensical statement, Christie claimed Sarah needed more "unscripted moments." Yeah, I know, pathetic, but what do you expect from someone with nothing else going for him? This came a couple of days after Sarah was in Long Island, New York and did a 65 minute interview with a democrat host, in a mostly democrat crowd. Media from all around the world was there to cover the event. As you will see in the video, there was no script.

Stacy Drake writes: Christie Fans Actually Upset with Governor Palin for Going "Unscripted."

Thing is, Sarah Palin has been ignoring Christie's on-going jabs for months. So, she finally decides to let people know how petty and self centered he is, because he can't seem to find anyone inspiring out there in the Republican Party, and also to let the guy know making government smaller when there is a gun to your head is not as impressive as doing it when times are good, and no one is watching.

There's a lot more to the interview. Sarah talks in detail about the fiscal issues facing the nation.

Our friends at The Right Scoop have the video as well as video of her appearance with Bill O'Reilly that came right after the Fox Business News interview. Sadly the most noteworthy thing in that interview was Sarah telling O'Reilly to shut up so she could talk! She's trying to talk about entitlement reform, and O'Reilly being O'Reilly, won't let her get a word in edgewise. This is why we prefer it when Sarah is on Fox Business News. The anchors over there ask serious questions and allow their guests to answer them.

The interview with Asman is a must see. Check it all out here.

New Jersey Governor Christie's Dirty Ties To Hamas-linked Islamic Supremacists

Now we know why Chris Christie came out in support of the Ground Zero Victory Mosque.

From Jihad Watch: [emphasis mine]

Cross another one off the Presidential timber list for 2012. A tale of yet another clueless or compromised politician: "Governor Christie's Dirty Islamist Ties," by Daniel Greenfield at Sultan Knish, January 16 (thanks to Dave):

New Jersey, the Garden State, has just taken its first step toward becoming the Sharia State, with Governor Christie's nomination of Sohail Mohammed, an attorney to detained terrorist suspects, to a Superior Court judgeship in Passaic County. The Sohail nomination continues Christie's unfortunate pandering to the American Muslim Union and the Islamic Center of Passaic County.

Passaic County has the second largest Muslim population in the country. And the Islamic Center of Passaic County is the state's largest mosque, and it's the only one run by an an Imam who was a member of the Hamas terrorist organization. But when the United States government attempted to deport Mohammed Qatanani, New Jersey's pols and wannabe pols like Christie, quickly came to his aid. Despite the fact that Mohammed Qatanani was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, the organization that is behind both Al Qaeda and Hamas, despite his own guilty plea to being a member of Hamas, and despite the fact that even in the United States, he had defended a charity that provided funds to children of suicide bombers (this is done as an incentive to reassure terrorists that if they die their families will be taken care of), Qatanani was not deported.

This is less a sign of his innocence, then of the power and influence wielded by Qatanani and the American Muslim Union. There was hardly a top New Jersey public official who did not come out for Qatanani. And that included both of the major candidates in the governor's race, Governor Jon Corzine and Chris Christie. Christie called Qatanani, "a man of great goodwill" and "a constructive force" and allowed Charles McKenna, one of his associate attorneys to testify on behalf of Qatanani. Afterward Christie tapped McKenna to head New Jersey's Department of Homeland Security. McKenna had spent a good deal of time on Muslim "outreach" and made numerous statements echoing their talking points.

The pioneering terrorism researcher, Steve Emerson called it, "a disgrace and an act of pure political corruption". He stated, "I know for certain that Christie and the FBI SAC had access to information about Qatanani's background, involvement with and support of Hamas." Defending Qatanani required Christie to pit himself against the Department of Homeland Security, which wanted him deported. But the Department of Homeland Security wasn't running for office in New Jersey. Christie was.

The first Imam of the Islamic Center of Passaic County, Mohammad El-Mezain, was convicted of funneling money to Hamas. El-Mezain had actually boasted of raising almost 2 million dollars for Hamas. And his replacement, Qatanani, actually was a member of Hamas. An ordinary politician might have been forgiven for not knowing this, but Christie was the US Attorney for New Jersey. It's absolutely impossible that he would not have known the background of the Islamic Center of Passaic County. Yet Christie attended a Ramadan dinner, in the same place where terrorists had fundraised, and kissed Qatanani on the cheek.

Now Christie has nominated Sohail Mohammed, Qatanan's former lawyer, to a Superior Court judgeship. Sohail Mohammed is a board member of the American Muslim Union, an organization that has interlocking leadership with groups that have fundraised for Hamas and hosted a Hamas speaker. The American Muslim Union is closely interlinked with Qatanani's Islamic Center of Passaic County....

There is much more. Read it all
.

BareNakedIslam has even more:

What should raise a red flag about this appointee is his remarks following the arrest of the 6 Muslim men charged with plotting to slaughter scores of soldiers at Fort Dix, N.J. Their goal was "to kill as many American soldiers as possible" in attacks with mortars, rocket-propelled grenades and guns, prosecutors said.

In January 2006, a store clerk in New Jersey saw something. A group of Muslim men had brought him a video showing them firing assault weapons and chanting, "God is Great!" in Arabic. They wanted him to transfer the footage onto a DVD.

New Jersey is a big state, population wise, one would think there would be good, qualified jurists that Christie could have appointed Superior Court that didn't have ties to radical Islam. We've been skeptical of Christie for a long time. His support for left wing politicians, and of course his support for legislation that would allow the state to confiscate private property at will, grabbing unused traveler's checks and gift cards to feed the government monster, has troubled us greatly. That said, this is incredibly troubling.

We are at war with radical Islam, and Chris Christie is appointing someone To New Jersey's Superior Court with ties to not one, but two Islamic terrorist groups.Worse than that, it seems Christie has many ties to the radical Islamic community as well.

It looks like Chris Christie is quite willing to not only sell out American values, but America's national security for votes. Votes from the very people who have declared war on the United States.

Unbelievable.

From The Office Of Why Chris Christie Will Never Be President: New Jersey Wants to Seize Your Unused Gift Cards And Travelers Checks!

Can we PLEASE stop worshiping these "shiny new object" politicians!

New Jersey's Chris Christie has become somewhat of a You Tube celebrity for his antics while taking on the union thugs who have cause the state all sorts of grief.

Of course all of this attention has the "look at the shiny new object he should be our next President !!!!!11!!!!!" crowd" having hot flashes. We saw the same thing after big time RINO Scott Brown was elected. He hadn't even made his victory speech yet and the usual suspects were already printing up "Brown 2012" t-shirts! Since then he's been a dismal failure for the Conservatives who sent money from around the country supporting his run. He's become a reliable vote, for the democrats!

Brown is not the only "shiny new object" who isn't what he was sold as, just one of the newer ones.

Which brings us back to Chris Christie.

Look, the man deserves credit for taking on the unions. That's a big deal, and they should be taken down. States that don't have "right to work laws" which pretty much put unions out of business, are crazy. But that's another blog topic.

Christie is a One-Note-Johnny. He's doing that one thing right, but he simply is not a Conservative in any way shape or form.

I'm not just talking about the fact Christie endorsed far left Senate candidate Mike Castle over Conservative Christine O'Donnell in Delaware, or his backing of establishment candidate Meg Whitman in California. Those do give us an insight of where his heart lies though.

No, Christie has bigger issues. He's weak on the Second Amendment, for amnesty for illegals, thinks it's marvelous radical Muslims want to build a mosque at Ground Zero, and is weak on the human rights of the unborn.

Even all of that is not as big of an outrage as this latest nonsense:

Now it seems that Christie is as heavy handed as any communist thug out there. Christie backs a law that would allow the state to literally steal private citizen's unused gift cards and travelers checks!

Think about this a minute.

You take your hard earned [and already taxed to death] money and buy a gift card for yourself or someone else. This is property. YOUR property! Just as if it was a house or an automobile. Or you could even think of it as cash, for that matter. No matter how you look at it though, it's government sanctioned theft of private property.

Fausta Wertz reports:

The legislation amended part of the state Uniform Unclaimed Property Act to include gift cards for the first time, allowing the state to consider a card abandoned two years after purchase and seize the balance.
The amendment also allowed the state to consider a traveler’s check abandoned if it is not cashed or spent three years or longer from the purchase date, instead of after 15 years under the previous law — the rule in most states.

Think about this for a minute. You have property, in the form of an unused gift card, or traveler's check, and just because you haven't found a use for it in a totally arbitrary amount of time [made up by greedy politicians who lust after money to fund more failure] those greedy politicians can come in and just steal it from you, and Chris Christie is on board with it!

Christie’s administration estimated that the amendment would bring in $80 million to help solve the state’s chronic budget problems. A key element of the legislation was that it would be retroactive, allowing the Treasury to seize money from travelers checks as far back as 1994.

Read more of Fausta's shocking report here.

So Chris Christie, who presents himself as a fiscal hawk, sees stealing the private property from hard working New Jersey citizens, already some of the most over-taxed in the nation, as a way to cure "chronic budget problems." I guess it never occurred the this genius to cut spending!

Oh, and this government sanction theft of private property will be retroactive all of the way back to 1994!

What's next?

Let's say you are a car guy, and restoring an old car, a process that can take years. Since you can't drive it while it's apart, and not "use" it, would Christie and his money hungry thugs come confiscate that?

How about a second home? What if you have a second home that is vacant, for whatever reason, will Christie want that next to feed the government monster?

Even better, what of vacant land? It's just sitting there and you aren't using it, why not let Christie and his thieves come and take it, by force of law!

After all, the government machine MUST BE FED!

This is no different than being mugged in an ally. No wonder New Jersey law makers [and Christie] don't want New Jersey citizens owning guns!

The media, which has built Christie up as some sort of "Conservative star," has been very silent on this, and the usually loud and obnoxious Governor hasn't made any You Tube videos bragging about it either. I wonder why ....

This is outrageous. Big Government run wild and completely out of control. And Christie, whose only claim to fame is as a supposed "fiscal Conservative," is not only enabling this fiasco, he's cheerleading it on!

This guy has no clue on how to handle out of control government. His only solution is to keep feeding the monster, not matter what it takes.

Look, the bottom line is this. Christie is no Conservative, not even a pretend one. He's another Big Government progressive who will do anything, including stealing from his own people, to feed the beast. To continually grow and sustain the monster, rather than put it on a diet, and shrink it down to a manageable size. He's a fraud.

The bigger issue though, to me, is how some Conservatives act every time someone new pops up and does one thing right. Rather than setting back and watching to see if it's a fluke, and rather than going back and actually researching the person's record, they loose their minds and start claiming this "flavor-of-the-month" is the second coming, and the next thing you know, everyone is pushing that person as the next President!

Now Christie says he wants no part of the presidency, which is awesome, since I doubt America would want anything to do with Christie, if they knew the truth about him. But what scares me is some other "shiny new object" is going to pop-up out of nowhere and squeak past us all, only to turn out to be another Chris Christie, who is to the left of even some democrats. What do we do then?

What if, god forbid, this "shiny new object" got elected President, and we find out he's a Chris Christie clone? A Big Government progressive.

We already know that Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee are frauds, because EVERYONE has done their homework and looked at their extensive and disastrous records. We need to make sure that we fully vet anyone before were start proclaiming they are the "second coming."

People got behind Barack Obama not knowing a damned thing about him. Too lazy to look at his record and find out just how radical he was. How dangerous he was. I'd like to think, as Conservatives, we are more intelligent than that .... but I'm starting to have my doubts.

While this article is about Christie, and exposing him for the fraud he is, there is a bigger picture to consider.

Quite simply, stop worshiping every "shiny new object" that comes along! Instead sit back and watch them. See how they perform over time. Sadly, over time, most will let you down. But .... if one turns out to be the real deal, then .... and ONLY then .... should you get excited.

Hack politicians are a dime-a-dozen. Good solid leaders are hard to find. One thing is for sure, the latest "flavor-of-the month" politicians are seldom what they seem, and rarely, if ever, real leaders.

Sarah Palin: Vote!

Today is a very important day in America. Elections are taking place nationwide. They are all important. From the local school board to the highest office contested. We are blessed in this nation to be able to vote, so please exercise that right.

With that thought in mind, Sarah Palin has released an election day message:

It’s Imperative That We Exercise Our Right To Vote Today

"...the right which woman needed above every other, the one indeed which would secure to her all the others, was the right of suffrage."

Susan B. Anthony used those words to describe the cause she spent her life fighting for: the right of an American woman to cast a ballot for the candidate of her choice. Because of Susan B. Anthony’s tireless efforts and the courage and dedication of countless others, millions of American women will head to the polls today to exercise their right to vote.

When we consider the sacrifices made to give us this right, there is simply no excuse not to vote.

Today, the eyes of the nation are drawn in particular to the three big elections occurring on the east coast. New Jersey and Virginia will be electing new governors, and the 23rd Congressional District of New York will be sending a new representative to Washington D.C. The choices are clear in all three races.

In New York’s 23rd Congressional District race, Doug Hoffman represents the return of the ordinary citizen-politician who is dedicated to bringing fiscal sanity back to Washington, D.C. Doug’s message of cutting spending, lowering taxes, and ending the outrageous growth in the size and scope of the federal government has resonated throughout his district and the country. Voting for Doug Hoffman will send an important message to the powers that be: no more politics as usual.

The governor’s race in New Jersey is a referendum on the failed fiscal policies of the state’s current governor. New Jersey suffers under the highest tax burden in the nation – a burden which has caused many New Jerseyans to leave their home state for better economic prospects elsewhere. Chris Christie is dedicated to ending the reckless spending, the tax hikes, and the corruption that has plagued New Jersey for far too long. A vote for Chris Christie as the next governor of New Jersey will help to lead this great state – "The Crossroads of the Revolution" – back to prosperity.

In Virginia, Bob McDonnell’s commitment to lower taxes and fiscal responsibility make him the common sense choice in the governor’s race. If Bob’s honorable military service and track record as Virginia’s Attorney General are any indications of how he will handle the governorship, then it is safe to say that Virginians have an easy choice to make today.

Candidates like Doug Hoffman, Chris Christie, and Bob McDonnell represent common sense answers to the troubling economic questions facing our nation. They are a vote for fiscal sanity and for leaving our children an American future as bright and as promising as the one our parents left for us.

Please take time today to exercise the right that so many people fought to secure for us. In considering these east coast races, it occurred to me that Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and so many of the women who fought to give future generations the right to vote hailed from these states.

Vote today in honor of our past and with hope for our future.
