CNN's Don Lemon Talks About His Fun Inteview with Sarah Palin and Being Assaulted By Marcus Bachmann

CNN's Don Lemon reportedly spent an hour or so with Governor Sarah Palin on Friday as she took in the sights and sounds of the Iowa State Fair as part of her One Nation tour. If you haven't seen his report, click here.

In the video above Lemon talks about the time he had with Sarah and both he and Wolf Blitzer comment on how wonderful it was she talked with him and all of the reporters. As you know, when the Governor was touring the East Coast earlier in the summer, Scott Conroy reported Sarah's press availability was so great, on more than one occasion, he actually ran out of questions to ask her.

Unfortunately Don Lemon's day wasn't all peaches and cream. He would later encounter the Bachmann campaign.

Let me set the scene for you.

First, as Jason Clayworth of the Des Moines Register reports, Bachmann was 30 minutes late to speak at her scheduled Iowa State Fair soapbox event. Yup, they actually stand on a soapbox and speak to the crowd. Each candidate is allotted 20 minutes to state their case. A few minutes in the wheels came off the wagon:

She said she was going to shake hands but left the makeshift stage quickly when 17-year-old civil rights advocate Gabe Aderhold of Edina, Minn., loudly questioned her husband Marcus about his counseling techniques to "pray the gay away."

Most of her three minutes consisted of frequent campaign rhetoric that she says at many of her stops, such as her chant to make President Obama a "one-term president."

"It’s going to be a great election that’s coming up and Iowans are going to send the signal," Bachmann said. "This is where Barack Obama got his start, this is where he’s going to come to his end. In Iowa."

At this point two blonde female "security" guards started pushing and shoving people out of the way as the Bachmanns made a hasty exit, leave her stunned fans just standing there. During the melee, CNN's Don Lemon, an openly gay Black man, was roughed up pretty good by Michele Bachmann's husband, Marcus.

This isn't the first time a network reporter has had problems with Team Bachmann. ABC's Brian Ross alleges he was attacked in South Carolina after trying to ask Michele a legitimate question about her migraine headaches.

The Bachmann's have a history of problems with the gay community. Besides the clinic where Marcus claims to cure gays, Michele, whose sister is gay, has a history of some truly bizarre statements and actions.

Bachmann is on the record calling Disney's Lion King gay propaganda, and an attempt to "normalize" being gay. She came to this interesting take on the popular kids movie because Elton John performs the musical score and in her mind teachers may use this as an example that gay people can be creative too. Well hell, all one has to do us watch any random show on HGTV to figure that out!

Bachmann, who considers homosexuality some sort of mental disorder, actual called the police once claiming she'd been kidnapped by lesbian nuns! As Business Insider points out here, Bachmann has a habit of calling the police with complaints that most people would just deal with, or ignore.

We've long held that Michele Bachmann has some serious issues, as does her husband Marcus, who calls gays "barbarians" who "need to be educated and disciplined." [you figure it out]

Two things are for certain. The President of the United States is the President of all people, not just those they agree with. Anyone with such an open hatred, and such extreme views, of their fellow human beings, just might not be best person to sit in the Oval Office. We have a President now who is openly hostile to half the country. We need to move away from that.

Keeping that thought in mind, we also already have a thug in the White House who isn't above sending out his supporters to intimidate those who disagree with him. They aren't afraid to use violence either. Again, we don't need this sort of thing. The American media is, for the most part, biased and corrupt. Deal with it. .

Lastly, we need a leader who can walk into the belly of the beast, face violent opposition head on, look it dead in the eye, and keep on doing what they are doing, instead of running away at the slightest resistance.

Film Creator Stephen Bannon: "Fire From the Heartland" Was Inspired By Sarah Palin

Not long after I hit "publish" on the story about Citizens United's attempt to pump up Michele Bachmann in Iowa by repackaging the movie Fire From The Heartland, from a movie about conservative women, to a movie about [and "starring"] Michele Bachmann, I got a couple of notes reminding me about the original interviews with the film's creator Stephen Bannon.

At the time, Bannon was quite clear Sarah Palin was the inspiration for the movie. In hindsight, it seems making this movie is what lit a fire in Bannon's belly to create The Undefeated, a movie that is causing quite a stir nationwide.In fact, Bannon credits Sarah Palin for igniting this fire and inspiring women to get involved.

Documentarian Stephen Bannon has made a film called "Fire From the Heartland" which chronicles the stories of several women important to the conservative movement.

"No one had ever touched the topic, and in addition, we did it in a way that let the women speak for themselves," Bannon told Pop Tarts. "I wanted to pick a cross-section of women who would be emblematic – congresswomen, known commentators, and a cross section of Tea Party activists."

The inspiration for the film came to Bannon, who previously produced "Generation Zero," when Sarah Palin emerged on the national political scene as John McCain's vice presidential running mate scene in 2008.

"I noticed there is a new generation of young, female activists who are at the forefront of this rebellion who are inspired by Sarah Palin. I wanted to tell their stories and I wanted to do it in a way that could be linked back to the founders of the country – Abigail Adams, the pioneer women, the frontier women, Clare Boothe Luce, Phyllis Schlafly," Bannon said. "If you look at the conservative rebellion, it is women that are at the vanguard – not men, and that has never happened before in this country."

"Fire From the Heartland" features several key female Republican figures, from congresswoman Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming and Jean Schmidt of Ohio, to prominent political voices Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin. But Bannon credits Palin for "re-awakening" the conservative female movement in the United States, and standing tall against what he calls personal attacks brought on by the entertainment community and liberal media.

"Hollywood does not understand Middle America and it certainly does not understand, and in fact, despises, the core values of the country. The elite of Hollywood hold it in tremendous disregard. I could not think higher Governor Palin, she is a force of nature and has inspired a generation of women to really get actively involved in politics and more importantly, take their culture back and take their country back," he said. "I’ve seen it across the country. These women are incredibly inspired, and were not really politically engaged until Sarah Palin came on the scene."

"Fire From the Heartland" was made without Palin’s involvement, but Bannon hopes she makes her way to a screening over the coming weeks.

"We made this totally independently of any influence so we could tell our story, but I think Governor Palin would love the film, hopefully we’ll get to show it to her," Bannon said.

Looking at this year's midterm elections, Bannon predicted Republican gains, but said no real change can come until the Presidential election of 2012.

"I think (Obama) is going down the path of destroying the Democratic Party because he has driven out the moderates, and we're going to have a huge wave of enthusiasm that brings conservatives back in to at least share power," he said. "But if anybody thinks that November 2nd is going to change things, they're fooling themselves. It's going to be a nasty, nasty two years until the Presidential election of 2012, because right now, all we're trying to do is really stop his administration in its tracks. We haven't even begun the types of cuts we have to make in federal spending, the types of restructuring we have to do with the federal budget, what we have to do to rebuild our manufacturing base, are so large that people don't realize what's in front of them."

From Bannon's interview it's clear who inspired him to make this film, and who, in Bannon's opinion, has awakened Conservative women, and inspired them to get involved.

Now I know to some all of this may seem petty, and let me once again state that we haven't found evidence of Bachmann or her team promoting this as a film about her, but what Citizen's United is doing is not only dishonest, it's a slap in the face to everyone featured in this great film.

Citizens United is trying to create the impression this is a brand new film about Bachmann, when in fact, it was created last year. We're not sure if their motivation is to help Bachmann win Iowa, or simply latch on to her as a way of raising money for their own cause, but does it matter?

Even though Sarah Palin was the inspiration, I'm sure she would be the first to say she wasn't the "star" of this movie at all. Instead she's point to the strong women featured in the movie: Ann Coulter, Michelle Easton, Michelle Malkin, Deneen Borelli, Janine Turner, Dana Loesch, S.E Cupp, Jenny Beth Martin, Jamie Radtke, Sonnie Johnson, Jean Schmidt, Cynthia Lummis, and Michelle Moore.

Sarah Palin would be celebrating all of the strong Conservative women who are making a difference on a daily basis.

"Fire From The Heartland" Is NOT A Movie About, Nor Does It "Star" Michele Bachmann

In 2010 Stephen Bannon and Citizens United Productions released a great movie about Conservative women. While the film certainly mentions Michele Bachmann, and obviously Sarah Palin, the film also features Ann Coulter, Michelle Easton, Michelle Malkin, Deneen Borelli, Janine Turner, Dana Loesch, S.E Cupp, Jenny Beth Martin, Jamie Radtke, Sonnie Johnson and Michelle Moore. And even though more time is spent on Sarah Palin than Michele Bachmann, it would be just as erroneous to call Sarah the "star" of the movie as it is to call Bachmann the "star."

Still, this isn't stopping Citizens United from repackaging the doccumentary and promoting it in Iowa as a film "starring" Bachmann. In fact, they are spending $100,000 dollars promoting this thing.

A special-interest group is putting up television, billboard and Internet advertisements in Iowa promoting a film about Republican Michele Bachmann.

The ads will give the conservative presidential candidate’s campaign some free exposure during the three weeks before the Iowa straw poll on Aug. 13.

Citizens United – the group that was behind the U.S. Supreme Court case that opened the door for unlimited spending on election ads by corporations, unions and other interest groups – will spend nearly $100,000 on the ad campaign in Iowa, according to a news release.

The ads promote its documentary film "Fire from the Heartland: The Awakening of the Conservative Woman."

The movie was written and directed by Stephen Bannon, who wrote and directed the Sarah Palin documentary "The Undefeated."

Starting Monday, the Citizens United TV ads will run on Fox News and other cable channels in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids.

"The ad campaign will culminate with a booth at the Ames straw poll on August 13th," the news release says.

Now to be fair, we don't see Bachmann promoting this DVD, or claiming to be the star on her website, or Twitter, however, this is obviously a ploy to pump her up after her record has come under increasing scrutiny. It's also a cheep stunt by Citizens United to sell some DVDs.

"Fire From The Heartland" features the distinct and diverse voices of fifteen women who have had an ever-growing impact in government, social media and the Tea Party movement since the 2008 election.

I saw the movie with a large group of people at last week’s Red State Gathering in Austin, TX. The screening took place only a few hours after I’d gotten to meet and interview Nikki Haley, the mercurial candidate for governor from South Carolina. As we settled in to watch the movie, I looked around to see how many women were in the room. Let’s just say that under-representation wasn’t a problem.

Female voters have long been a demographic that’s been treated like a group-think voting bloc by the Left, with any woman who doesn’t fit the mold (see: Sarah Palin) getting roundly excoriated. As the movie begins with the women describing their backgrounds, a rich variety of experiences and influences emerges immediately.

What unites the distinct voices and personalities becomes apparent when they all begin talking about the Founding Fathers, the Constitution and their views on the role of the federal government in the lives of everyday Americans. The hallmarks of identity politics melt away and it’s clear that these women are all fiercely individual but share a common vision of what this country was intended, and no longer seems, to be.

Having grown up in the supposed age of feminism, I couldn’t help but think that this is probably what it was supposed to look like: strong, independent and successful women who have no interest in hand-wringing victimhood. The Left has Hillary Clinton, a woman who rode her husband’s coattails for a couple of decades before trading her Aggrieved Wife Victim Card for elective office. The Right has Phyllis Schlafly, who still commands attention in the way few men can.

It also has Reps. Michele Bachmann, Jean Schmidt, and Cynthia Lummis working hard within the system. Bachmann’s famous grilling of Timothy Geithner is one of the highlights of the film (and featured in the trailer on the website). The film also features Ann Coulter, Michelle Easton, Michelle Malkin, Deneen Borelli, Janine Turner, Dana Loesch, S.E Cupp, Jenny Beth Martin, Jamie Radtke, Sonnie Johnson and Michelle Moore. These women represent old and new media and a cross-section of the Tea Party movement. In short, they’re everywhere.

I experienced a quiet mix of embarrassment and gratitude during the screening. It occurred to me that one of the reasons these women have taken such a prominent role in recent years is that so many of the men who were left in charge of the conservative movement failed it and us miserably. Many readers will no doubt say "Conservative men didn’t fail us, Republicans failed us." The simple fact is that many elected Republican conservatives have been screwing things up since the late 1990s. Now we’re faced with the prospect of having a great November but keeping the good ol’ boy network intact and basically suffering through the same congressional leadership that drove Barack Obama and this Democratic congress into power.

My gratitude is due to the fact that I know so many of these women who are out there having the guts to change the GOP from within and remake it into a conservative party once again. They don’t have the time for third party nonsense and aren’t interested in just sitting around and complaining about the Republicans, like so many men I know on the Right these days. They just want to get something done.

It's a real insult to all of the strong women celebrated in this movie for Citizens United to use them and their legacy to promote the candidacy of one of them over any of the others. Especially when it's the one candidate who is so magnificently not qualified to be president.

Like Barack Obama, Michele Bachmann Puts Political Expediency Ahead of Principles in Her Life

When I first heard stories about Michele Bachmann's church, I sort of blew them of as typical left wing demagoguery, especially since the story first appeared in the far left Atlantic, a little sewer that for years employed free lance gynecologist Andrew Sullivan, who turned studying Sarah Palin's uterus into a cottage industry.

Even though I'm not inclined to defend Michele Bachmann, especially after the Tuscon shootings when Bachmann, who has loudly anointed herself the "leader" of Tea Party, was nowhere to be found when the entire Tea Party, and Sarah Palin, were accused of mass murder, after left winger Jarred Lee Laughner went on his murder spree. That told me all I needed to know about Michele Bachmann and her character. [or lack there of]

That said, I didn't think it was proper to spread what was likely nothing more than B.S. Then a funny thing happened that legitimized the story, and gave us a little more insight into the real Michele Bachmann.

First the church. For over a decade Michele Bachmann was a member of a church that says on it's website in a piece entitled "Statement on the antichrist" that the Pope is the antichrist. Now say what you will about the Church of Rome, but the Pope is not the antichrist by any stretch of the imagination.

I know it's not as bad as Barack Obama sitting in Reverend Jeremiah "God Damn America" Wright's church for 20 years, but it's pretty bad. And just like Obama who can claim [lie] that he never heard one of Wright's anti-American, Jew hating rants, Bachmann has no out, because this teaching is front and center in the church. It's right there on their website.

Now I know you are sitting there getting ready to tell me off, but there is even more to this deal. You see, the Bachmann's KNEW this whack-job church was going to be a problem, and less than a week before she announced she was running for president, she quietly bailed out on them. Glenn Beck's website, The Blaze calls it "another Reverend Wight moment."

This tells me she knew this was going to turn normal people off, and hoped she could distance herself from this bunch, rather than defend her faith. After all, plenty of Catholics vote.

Bachmann, who uses her religion as a campaign tool, proudly listed the church on her 2006 congressional campaign website. [when no one was paying attention to her] Her new site lists no church.

According to CNN:

Bachmann was asked about her status with the church on Thursday at Reagan National Airport as she headed to catch a flight. When asked about her pastor, she asked, "Which one?" An aide quickly hustled her away, noting that they were late for a flight.

So much for openness and honesty. Bachmann is showing herself to be nothing but the typical Washington establishment politician more and more every day.

Look, anyone can go to any church they want to. Obama obviously sat in a church for 20 years that promoted extreme anti-Americanism, hatred of Jews, and supports terror groups like Hamas. As an American, that's his right, of course we have seen what that environment of over the top hatred produced in Obama.

Now I have no idea what the sermons at Bachmann's now former church are like, but I do know I haven't seen the over-the-top hatred of gays like I have from the Bachmanns in a long time. Michele's husband, Marcus, says gays are "barbarians" who need to be need to be educated and must be disciplined. I supposed that happens at his bogus de-gaying clinic, I don't know.I do know there is a lot of hate coming from those two for the fellow human beings.

What I know for sure, is the Bachmanns had no problem attending this church until it became a perceived political liability, then it was under the bus with them, just as Obama threw his beloved pastor under the bus when he became a liability.

Many already look at Michele Bachmann as little more than "Obama in a skirt" because she has no experience, and no achievements, but frankly, that is a disservice to Obama. While Obama had no record as a state or US Senator, and no accomplishments at those jobs, he did run terrorist Bill Ayers' phony "education" foundation and handled a roughly $60 million budget. From all accounts, Bachmann can't even manage her own small congressional staff.

Washington is full of people who put politics over principle, and try to hide things from the American people, so Michele Bachmann is certainly nothing special in this regard, but that's the problem, isn't it?

We are trying to rid Washington of people like this. People who only look out for good old number one.

We can do a hell of a lot better than Michele Bachmann. We MUST do a hell of a lot better than Michele Bachmann!

Stalker Who Threatened To Rape and Murder Sarah Palin, Her Daughter, and a Friend, Is A Bachmann Supporter

We've talked about Shawn Christy before. This guy is certifiable, and as we reported, so is his family. Christy lives in a fantasy world where he believes he and Governor Palin had some sort of "intimate relationship" and his crazy family goes along with this. I've even had Christy's father, Craig, send me insane messages about Secret Service cover-ups after I wrote about this nonsense.

Christy has threatened to kill Sarah, rape and kill her daughter, as well as Sarah's good friend, Kristan Cole. He's sent both Sarah and Kristan violent threats, and was even harassing Kristan's kids on Facebook. Again, Christy's mother and father were in on this, and sent messages of their own.

All three of these people belong in a facility for the criminally insane.

Kelsey at Barbaric Thoughts has the latest on these loons.

Recordings of telephone calls made to Sarah Palin’s attorney by a 19-year-old Pennsylvania man accused of stalking the former Alaska governor are peppered with profanity-laced tirades and vows to continue calling nonstop.

In one recording, Shawn Christy of McAdoo, Pa., tells Palin’s lawyer: "You want to play games, you wanna play little court games, well play games, now come on .. Come on! Let’s play games as far as you want it to go on!"

The recordings have been submitted with a motion by attorney John Tiemessen asking a state magistrate in Alaska to deny a request to dissolve a restraining order against Christy.

The motion says Christy’s father, Craig Christy, also has made multiple calls to his office. One of the calls is included in the filing.

"There is really not sufficient punctuation on a standard keyboard to express the seething, spitting, splenic, paranoid, bat-guano crazy rage that is encapsulated on the audio," Tiemessen wrote in the document filed late Tuesday. "None of these calls advance resolution of this matter. They only reinforce that the Christies are a disturbed, obsessed and delusional set of individuals who can not be trusted to behave in a minimally socially acceptable manner on the telephone."

Shawn Christy disputes involvement in a letter threatening Palin’s teenage daughter Willow that was submitted as evidence against him earlier this year.

The letter, consisting of cut-and-paste words, says that if Palin didn’t announce by the non-existent date of April 31 that she would not run for office, "you will be cleaning Willows brain cells off your clothes." It is signed "Hollow Point" and mailed from southeastern Pennsylvania, which the Christys say is nowhere near McAdoo. They also say the handwriting on the envelope is nothing like Shawn Christy’s, who submitted copies of the letter and envelope, along with a letter he wrote to Palin in the past to compare hand writing.

"I demand evidence be submitted to the United States Secret Service for further investigation, to prove my innocence, and I demand a retrial," Shawn Christy wrote in his request.

His mother, Karen Christy, told The Associated Press that the phone calls to Tiemessen reflect the deep frustration the family feels over the letter her son is accused of sending and their inability to find who has the original. In one of the recordings, Tiemessen said he sent the original to the Anchorage office of the FBI, but declined to identify what agent had it, saying he didn’t know. The FBI won’t confirm possession of the letter, Karen Christy said. She believes the letter weighed heavily in extension of the restraining order against her son.

"No one has yet to prove that Shawn wrote that letter and no one has been able to produce the original letter," she said. "Until something is proven that Shawn did it, I don’t see how they can hold that against him."

Craig Christy just mailed a request to get the restraining order against him resolved as well, according to Karen Christy.

Tiemessen told the AP in an email that after the court’s May decision, "Karen Christy promised that her family would not contact us anymore." That promise was short-lived, Tiemessen said.

"The Christys claim that they just want to be left alone," he said. "They have the power to make that happen. The fact that they continue on this self-destructive path suggests an unfortunate and potentially dangerous alternative desire."

These people are definitely "disturbed" and most certainly dangerous.

Kelsey has much more, including some screen captures of Facebook postings from both Shawn and Craig. In her investigation, she also discovered that Shawn is a big supporter of Michele Bachmann. My advice to Bachmann is: Get plenty of security.

So Who Is Exactly Is Running For President, Michele Bachmann or Her Husband?

Every day we find something new about Michele Bachmann that just creeps us out. Each story more bizarre than the last.

Here we have Bachmann from 2006 going on and on about the bible saying a woman must be submissive to her husband, and how she didn't want to go to the various schools she did, but Marcus told her to. Then she says she didn't want to run for Congress, but Marcus pushed her to do that too.

Tell me that doesn't freak you out!

The obvious question is Bachmann running for President because she honestly thinks she can make a difference, or to please her husband? I mean seriously, Bachmann is the most ill prepared to be president our side has put up in a long time. A tissue paper thin resume, and no executive experience of any kind.

The second obvious question is who will actually be President, Michele or her husband?

I'm sorry, a President needs significant executive experience, and along with that experience, a long list of POSITIVE achievements. Things that actually benefited those she served. The President also has to be her own person. Someone who is in charge. A true leader, not just an empty vessel for her spouse to live vicariously through.

Bachmann continues to raise more and more questions than there are answers. One thing is for certain, she is not the right person to lead this nation back to prosperity and greatness. Neither is Marcus.

The Sugar Daddy Has Run Out of Sugar; Now We Need New Leaders

Barack Obama’s big government policies continue to fail. He should put a link to the national debt clock on his BlackBerry. The gears on that clock have nearly exploded during his administration. Yesterday’s terrible job numbers should not be a surprise because it all goes back to our debt. Our dangerously unsustainable debt is wiping out our jobs, crippling our economic growth, and jeopardizing our position in the global economy as the leader of the free world.

As a governor, I had to deal with facts, even unpleasant ones. I dealt with the world as it is, not as I wished it to be. The "elite" political class in this country with their heads in the sand had better face some unpleasant facts about the world as it is. They’ve run out of money and no amount of accounting gimmicks or happy talk will change this reality. Those of us who live in the real world could see this day coming.

Back in January 2009, as governor of Alaska, I announced: "We also have to be mindful about the effect of the stimulus package on the national debt and the future economic health of the country. We won’t achieve long-term stability if we continue borrowing massive sums from foreign countries and remain dependent on foreign sources of oil and gas." Then I urged President Obama to veto the stimulus bill because it was loaded with absolutely useless pork and unfunded mandates. Everyone knows my early and vocal opposition to that mother of all unfunded mandates known as Obamacare starting back in August 2009, and many recall my objections to the Federal Reserves’ inflationary games with our currency known as QE2 from November 2010. It’s a matter of public record that I did not go to Harvard Law School, but I can add.

The same "experts" who got us into this mess are now telling us that the only way out of our debt crisis is to "increase revenue," but not by creating more jobs and therefore a larger tax base; no, they want to "increase revenue" by raising taxes on job creators who are taxed enough already! As Margaret Thatcher said, "The trouble with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money." That’s where we are now. Hard working taxpayers have been big government’s Sugar Daddy for far too long, and now we’re out of sugar. We don’t want big government, we can’t afford it, and we are unwilling to pay for it.

This debt ceiling debate is the perfect time to do what must be done. We must cut. Yes, I’m for a balanced budget amendment and for enforceable spending caps. But first and foremost we must cut spending, not "strike a deal" that allows politicians to raise more debt! See, Washington is addicted to OPM – Other People’s Money. And like any junkie, they will lie, steal, and cheat to fund their addiction. We must cut them off and cut government down to size.

To paraphrase Hemmingway, people go broke slowly and then all at once. We’ve been slowly going broke for years, but now it’s happening all at once as the world’s capital markets are demanding action from us, yet Obama assumes we'll just go borrow another cup of sugar from some increasingly impatient neighbor. We cannot knock on anyone’s door anymore. And we don’t have any time to wait for Washington to start behaving responsibly. We’ll be Greece before these D.C. politicians’ false promises are over. We must force government to live within its means, just as every business and household does.

We can’t close our $1.5 trillion deficit overnight, but we must get as close as we can as soon as we can. Little nibbles here and there over 10 years (spun to sound like they’re huge budget cuts) aren’t anywhere near enough. I know from experience that cutting government spending isn’t easy. As governor, I made the largest veto cuts in my state’s history, and I didn’t make many friends doing it. But we will never recover, we will never get free of devastating debt, unless we make tough choices now. We don’t hear talk like this from leaders in D.C. or from those running for office because they say what they think we want to hear rather than what must be said.

We are in desperate need of real leadership, but President Obama’s solution to everything is to grow government by borrowing more money, spending more money, printing more money, and taxing our job creators. He once said that he "believes in American Exceptionalism…just as the Greeks believe in Greek Exceptionalism." Well, the path he has us on will make us just as "exceptional" as Greece – debt crisis, stagnation, permanent high unemployment, and all.

As we approach 2012, there are important lessons we can learn from all of this. First, we should never entrust the White House to a far-left ideologue who has no appreciation or even understanding of the free market and limited government principles that made this country economically strong. Second, the office of the presidency is too important for on-the-job training. It requires a strong chief executive who has been entrusted with real authority in the past and has achieved a proven track record of positive measurable accomplishments. Leaders are expected to give good speeches, but leadership is so much more than oratory. Real leadership requires deeds even more than words. It means taking on the problems no one else wants to tackle. It means providing vision and guidance, inspiring people to action, bringing everyone to the table, and with a servant's heart dedicating oneself to striking agreements that keep faith with our Constitution and with the ordinary citizens who entrusted you with power. It means bucking the status quo, fighting the corrupt powers that be, serving the common good, and leaving the country better than you found it. Most of us don’t see a lot of that real leadership in D.C., and it’s profoundly disappointing.

But let me tell you where real hope lies. It’s not the hopey-changey stuff we heard about in 2008. Real hope comes from realizing how God has blessed our exceptional nation, and then doing something about it. We have been blessed with natural resources, hardworking entrepreneurs, and a Constitution that preserves the greatest form of government ever devised by man. If we develop those natural resources, allow our entrepreneurs to keep and invest more of what they earn, and adhere to the time-tested truths of our Constitution, we will prosper and endure.

But first and foremost we must tackle our debt. We don’t have the luxury of playing politics as usual. We need real leaders who will put aside their own political self-interest to do what is right for the nation. And if they don’t emerge… well, America has a do-over in November 2012.

This is what I'm talking about!

This is Sarah Palin in top form. She's not messing around.

Not only is she calling out the Obama regime, and the feckless Republican establishment, she's calling out all the self-serving, ego driven politicians out there. America is in crisis. Now is not the time for grand standing, and making speeches, it's time to do something.

Sarah also points out that our next President must have Executive Experience, saying: " ....the office of the presidency is too important for on-the-job training. It requires a strong chief executive who has been entrusted with real authority in the past...."

In other words, anyone who hasn't governed a state need not apply. But she goes on to set the bar even higher, adding that Governor must have " ....achieved a proven track record of positive measurable accomplishments." That certainly narrows the field down, now doesn't it!

Sarah has been sitting back and allowing the current field of candidates a little breathing room. Letting them have their time in the spotlight. Predictably, the more we know about the current field, the more we come to understand none of them are acceptable. The Governors in the field could just as easily run for the democrat nomination, and in most years win. It's been suggested by many that Romney do just that, and Huntsman just quit his job working for the Obama regime.

The rest have no Executive Experience. They've never run a city, never run a state, and have proven they are not even close to being qualified to be President.

There is a reason why we choose Governors, rather than members of Congress, to be our presidents. Governors are leaders, and have the necessary skill set needed to successful hold the office. In both the 20th, and now the 21st centuries, any time we've had less than a Governor elected president, it's been a disaster. Kennedy had us hours away from World War III, and a nuclear one than that. Obama is the worst president in American history. There are several conflicts brewing that may indeed lead to a World War, if we aren't careful.

Of course, just being a governor is no guarantee of success. Jimmy Carter was the Governor of Georgia, and is only eclipsed by Obama has the worst in history. Mitt Romney was the Governor of Massachusetts and his time in office is a case study of how NOT to be a governor. Under his watch Massachusetts was at the bottom of the heap in job creation, and of course, he fathered socialized medicine in America, the blueprint for ObamaCare, and then left office, and the people of the Bay State hanging, having to deal with the horrific results of his "crowing achievement"!

Anyone who knows Sarah's actual record knows there is nothing but success after success. Many positive achievements. Sarah did things most would never be brave enough to even try, and they worked well.She left Alaska in a much better shape than she found it.

Make no mistake about it ladies and gents, Sarah Palin just laid down the challenge, and set the rules of engagement. If "Game On!" that cold, snowy day in Wisconsin was a declaration of war, this latest is the first shot of the battle.

It's time for some REAL change. Sarah Palin is going to Washington and she is going to clean house.

Hypocisy In Her Own Words and Deeds: Examining Bachmann's Record

Michele Bachmann certainly says the right things, but like most politicians, what she says doesn't marry up with her actual record. In other words, she may talk the talk, but she certainly doesn't walk the walk.

Today she has come out with a new ad, pandering to Iowan's, playing up her status as a native. Though multiple sources point out Bachmann, like our current president, just makes up her family history as she goes.

Anyhow, Bachmann has a new video where she says: "…I know that we can’t keep spending money that we don’t have. That’s why I fought against the wasteful bailout .…"



One other claim she makes. She claims to be a "small business job creator." I didn't know a House member could create jobs. Too bad she doesn't elaborate on this, because I'd love to see how that works!

Oh, and I REALLY love how Bachmann thinks being a "tax lawyer" [or any kind of lawyer] actually enhances her résumé! Only in Washington do these establishment hacks think that.

Now that we've seen what Bachmann is selling .... today .... lets look at the love letter she wrote to the Obama regime's Agriculture Secretary, Tom Vilsack, back in October 2009 after some literal pork spending by the federal government that helped her state. [emphasis mine]

Your efforts to stabilize prices through direct government purchasing of pork and dairy products are very much welcomed by the producers in Minnesota, and I would encourage you to take any additional steps necessary to prevent further deterioration of these critical industries, such as making additional commodity purchases and working to expand trade outlets for these and other agricultural goods.

Far from worrying about spending money we don't have, a problem that existed just as much in 2009 as it does now, she's advocating, and encouraging much more spendng. Oh, and in 2008 Bachmann voted YES on the mini-stimulus bill and for backing more FHA loans. [at a time that whole program was self-destructing]

Bachmann is always trying to have it both ways. When she's out there on the stump she's singing the song voters want to hear. Back in D.C., not so much.

On December 9, 2010 she told Politico:

This isn’t trying to be too cute by half of what is an earmark and what isn’t. But we have to address the issue of how are we going to fund transportation projects across the country? [she also said that Article I of the Constitution gives Congress] ....the authority to make discriminatory decisions, which means proactive decisions about which roads are built.

When I hear this "transportation projects" talk I'm always reminded of how democrats justify everything they do [even abortion funding] by saying it's "for the children." To me these are weasel words.Obama used "transportation" and "shovel ready projects" as the excuse for his $1 trillion spending package. An effort that has yield few, if any, positive results.

Now, on her own congressional website, Bachmann seems to take the opposite stance on earmarks, and government spending. More empty rhetoric. And an illustration of what she SAYS vs what she DOES.

Bachmann seems to be fine with pork spending when it benefits her in some way. More do as I say, not as I do. 

One of the biggest wastes of time and money is the immoral ethanol program. Why do I call it immoral? Because using food for fuel causes food prices to rise, significantly. Though most Americans can grudgingly absorb that cost, most around the world cannot. Using food for fuel is having a devastating effect world wide.

We can go into the fact ethanol is a worthless fuel, how it's production causes more polution than gasoline ever would, and how, in fact, not only do cars get less milage burning ethanol laced gasoline, vs pure gasoline, at another time. We can also discuss how ethanol is harmful to internal combustion engines, and all of it's other failings, at another time as well.

Ethanol, as an alternative fuel, is a failure on every level. It's junk fuel. That said, Bachmann seems to love the stuff.

In 2005 Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, another one who is absolutely in love with ethanol, was pushing a MANDATE that would double the amount of ethanol required in every gallon of gasoline/ethanol mix. Thus, making a bad problem worse. State senator Michele Bachmann voted FOR this mandate.

In June Katrina Trinko wrote an extensive article detailing how Bachmann is trying to have it both ways on ethanol. Here's a taste: [emphasis mine]

She also spoke favorably of ethanol in a July 2008 conference call on energy. "We’ve also done a very good job in Minnesota by building the E85 pumps all across the state, so that people can have access to them," Bachmann said during the call. Not mentioned: the fact that Minnesota allotted $1.75 million to give to gas-station owners who installed E85 pumps.

This sounds an awful lot like Big Government meddling in private business to me. If we were talking free market vs government mandates, that free market would determine how many E85 pumps were needed based on supply and demand. The problem is, Pawlenty, Bachmann and her fellow Minnesota legislators MANDATED ethanol requirements and thus were all but forced to spend tax dollars making sure there were pumps out there for a product most drivers would rather not have to use.

Tell me how this squares with Bachmann's "Tea Party Persona" again?

It's almost comical that Bachmann rails against ObamaCare and it's unconstitutional mandates, when she voted for draconian mandates of her own. 

The more you look into Bachmann's record and compare it to her rhetoric, you realize she is nothing more than a typical politician who will say one thing, and do just the opposite. Though she has few accomplishments as a United States Congresswoman, as a state senator, it looks like she did more to further Big Government waste, and overreach, than anything else.

What really troubles me, is Bachmann seems to understand global warming is a hoax, and fought against any sort of cap and tax scheme. And yet, she's been pushing ethanol for years. Ethanol is a useless fuel that only exists because of the global warming nutters. The only reason anyone, who understands global warming is a hoax, would support ethanol as enthusiastically as Bachmann has, is simple: She's pandering for votes.

We don't need any more of these business as usual, talk the talk, but forget to walk the walk, establishment politicians. Bachmann is no better than any other Washington hack. Looking at her record it's almost like she only hitched herself to the Tea Party movement as a gimmick, not because she actually believes what they are about.

Look, Michele Bachmann has no executive experience. She's never run a city, never run a state. She has no real accomplishments in Congress. She was rejected by her fellow Republicans when it came time to hand out leadership roles. All we have to judge her own is her voting record. Flowery ads and fiery speeches are fine, but saying one thing, and actually doing something else is not.

America deserves better than this. America deserves better than Michele Bachmann.

Sarah Palin Is Still The GOP's Biggest Star And Only Leader

Pella took center stage as Sarah Palin made a visit to the community of 10,000 to view a new documentary about her political life, "The Undefeated." Below are my thoughts about what took place there yesterday.

The Setting

The setting couldn’t have been more perfect. The City of Pella is worth a visit at any time of year, especially in the early spring when its millions of tulips are bloom. But even after the tulips are gone, the vibrant city known for its Dutch heritage still impresses those who stop in the southern Iowa town.

The heart of the city is populated with locally owned stores. There isn’t a big box store in sight of the downtown. Instead of cars being lined up at a Starbucks, people grab their coffee at Smokey Row. People travel from near and far to get Dutch letters and baked goods from the Jaarsma Bakery. If sweets and baked goods are not your forte, there is always Ulrich’s Meat Market.

Pella was the perfect setting to unveil the new Palin documentary, The Undefeated, because, in many ways, it could be said that the community of Pella is undefeated.

The community, which has 2400 more registered Republicans than Democrats, embraced the movie premier and Palin visit. The day before her visit, the movie producer and other advance staff could be heard laughing throughout the downtown with public safety officials. As always, the community of Pella put its best foot forward as the spotlight shined upon its picturesque city.

The Movie

Last week, I talked to a member of the media who had seen a preview of "The Undefeated" and was unimpressed. Most of the complaints were technical in nature. They were also offended by the unrated version’s language that opens the movie. The movie begins showing the vicious attacks on Palin, most of them from the liberal elite from Hollywood. The version shown in Pella was lightly toned down with the offending curse words being bleeped out, but the effect of displaying the vitriol this woman faced, mostly just for the fact that she’s a conservative woman, was still shocking and a bit overwhelming to watch.

My initial thought while watching the movies was, where was this three years ago when Palin was on the Republican presidential ticket? The movie does an excellent job of telling the story of Palin’s political career, the odds she faced, the victories she achieved, and the price that she ultimately paid.

After watching the film, you come away with a better understanding of what Palin did in Alaska that thrust her into the national spotlight. The documentary showcases the victories she achieved in the first 20 months as governor. Then it shows how, after being demonized by the liberal left, she was no longer able to accomplish anything.

The Star: [emphasis mine]

Palin was amazing in Pella yesterday. As she and Todd made their way though various shops in the downtown area, onlookers would stop to say hello, ask to take a photo, or get an autograph. Palin took it all in stride. Even though she is a huge media sensation, she is somehow able to remain grounded. Nothing illustrated that more than the bug splattered Chevy Malibu that they drove to Pella.

The media couldn’t help but try and compare Palin to Michele Bachmann, who officially launched her presidential campaign on Monday. They both connect to people, and both have star power, but having seem them both in Iowa in the span of 24 hours, it’s clear that Palin will always be the original female GOP star. That’s not an insult toward Bachmann, but Palin’s star shines brighter.

I thought it was pretty remarkable that Palin, who is a national political phenomenon, came to this small Iowa town, strolled through the town square, watched a two-hour movie with 300 plus locals, and then spent several hours meeting people and shaking hands at the cook out that followed the movie premier. The people just flocked to her in Pella last night, and she handled it all with grace.

Palin must have posed for a thousand photographs last night. In addition, she also autographed hundreds of books, tickets, and even a baseball. While she could have left at any time, she patiently worked through the crowd until she hit the door of her car. The crowd loved her. Nobody went home disappointed.

This article hits the nail on the head. Sarah Palin has a rare quality that we will need to win in 2012. She's undeniably a media superstar. She can draw a crowd anywhere. She connects very well with people. And lets face it, if she's in town, she's the story, the media all but ignore other candidates, and even the President of the United States, if he's close by.

But there's more to Sarah Palin than that, she was also a superstar Governor. She had the highest approval rating of any Governor, and possibly any elected official, in the entire United States. She did this by working hard and getting things done. She took on corruption, including corruption among Republicans and Big Oil. She cut spending by record amounts. And she did it in good times, while her legislature was begging her to spend, spend, spend.

You know, we look at a few Governors out there today trying to cut spending, and get excited, but we must remember, these Governors have no choice. Their states are on the verge of bankruptcy. Alaska was flush with money, but Sarah foresaw a time when it wouldn't be. She was way ahead of the curve. Her insight left Alaska with a $12 billion surplus.

Sarah even cut her own staff, famously getting rid of the cook and other staff at the Governor's Mansion. She also refused a pay raise [taking her from $125,000 to earning $150,000 per year] the legislature approved for both her and the Lt. Governor. [who also refused] All-in-all, Sarah cut the executive office budget by $1 million, as compared to the previous two Governor's spending.

Sarah also got huge things done like ACES and AGIA. The former revamping the way Big Oil paid Alaska for the oil they take out of the ground, the latter putting in place the mechanism to create a natural gas pipeline from Alaska to the lower 48, the largest construction project in North American history, and a 30 year dream of the Alaskan people.

Sarah got more significant things done in her time as Governor than most Governors and even most Presidents do in their entire careers.

You combine the media savvy of Sarah Palin with the abilities as the best Governor/CEO in the country and you have a winning package, not only for 2012, but for many decades to come.

You see, the thing Sarah Palin is able to do, that no other politician in the country can, including Obama, is excite people to the point of truly wanting to get involved. Those familiar with Organize4Palin, know that thousands of volunteers nationwide are building a ground game for 2012, just on the HOPE Sarah Palin will run for President. These aren't paid staffers. They are regular people who see a real leader and are willing to work hard to do anything to help her win.

But, there's more. Sarah Palin has a profound effect on young people, boys and girls. Witness Youth for Palin, a growing group of real patriots whose writing we're proud to feature here. These young women and men are excited about Liberty and Freedom. They will be the future leaders of our country.

As someone who still has great reverence for Ronald Reagan, Sarah Palin really excites me in a way no other can. She is the embodiment of Reagan. We know she's studied Reagan since her youth. Now she's using her star power to get younger folks, who didn't have the pleasure of living when Reagan was President, to understand the principles he used to save America after the turbulent Carter years. She's also reminding the older folks as well.

Simply put, Sarah Palin is today's gold standard of Conservatism and leadership. She has the ability to not only revive the Reagan Revolution, but create her own as well. As great as Reagan was, I firmly believe Sarah Palin has what it takes to raise the bar even higher. Sarah's unique pioneer roots, as well as her natural ability as a CEO, give her something we only see once, maybe twice, in a lifetime.

Sarah Palin can connect with the common man, because she's one too. She can also stand with the world's great leaders because she is one of them, too. Few can claim this sort of power and ability. And Sarah has the charisma and star power to bring the nation with her as she works to fundamentally RESTORE the nation to it's founding principles.

I rarely trust politicians or put an ounce of faith in them. I trust Sarah Palin completely and have faith in her. I've been following Sarah's career since her earliest days as Governor. A lot has happened since then. I've never been disappointed in how she's handled whatever came her way. She's proven to have a certain ability to always do the right thing, even when it was incredibly hard.

Sarah has also proven, without a single doubt, that she is one of the best tacticians out there. She has a political savvy that not only wins elections, but also wins hearts and minds. She proved as Governor that she could get things done by working with the democrats, without having to compromise her principles. The last President we had who could do this was Ronald Reagan. Reagan got incredible things done with a democrat Congress. Sarah got incredible things done facing not only democrats, but a hostile Republican Party. [sending their buddies to prison helped that along]

With Sarah Palin as our nominee, not only will she beat Obama in a landslide, her coattails will be long. Sarah proved in 2010 she can deliver. We saw one of the biggest nationwide political re-alignments in our nation's history, and Sarah played a huge part in this.

There are a lot of democrat Senators up for re-election in 2012. With the leadership and star power Sarah has, we can win enough of those seats to have a strong Republican majority in Congress. With this majority, Sarah will be able to restore our nation. She will put us on a path of energy independence. Real energy independence. She'll put in policies that will grow our economy and create jobs. Good jobs. Durable jobs. Most importantly, she will slash spending like you have never though imaginable. She'll ride herd over wayward RINOs, and get a lot of democrats on board as well. Sarah won't be bashful cutting any and all wasteful spending.

Leadership in Washington is almost non-existent. You don't even have to take your shoes off to count how many real leaders are in our nation's capitol, and none of them are at the top. Leaders like Sarah Palin do not grow on trees. When they come along, it is our duty as Americans to see they are put in office. Sarah Palin is the key if we want to see America restored. No one else has what she brings to the table. No one has the mix of star power and natural ability to govern, and govern well.

This is Sarah Palin's time. This is our time too.

Bristol Palin: Michele Bachmann 'Dresses a Lot Like My Mom'

Bristol Palin, on promotional tour for her new book: Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far had some thoughts on Michele Bachmann:

Bristol is more than happy to reveal what she thinks about someone who has announced they are running, Michele Bachmann, who Bristol believes has stolen her mom's look!

"I think she dresses a lot like my mom," Bristol tells me. "But a lot, a lot of women have done that the last few years. I do think it's odd, you know, seeing people with red blazers with their hair up with glasses."

Bristol added a giggle before continuing her thought about Bachmann, a Congresswoman from Minnesota. "I don't know if she's wearing glasses but you want to be hummmm, do you think that people don't notice you're dressing like my mom?"

Is Michele Bachmann As Dumb Joe Biden? We Report You Decide

I was amazed to see the number of people who came to Michele Bachmann's aid on Monday, after she booted where one of Iowa's most favorite son's, actor John Wayne, was born. [the John Wayne Waterloo, Iowa is known for is serial killer John Wayne Gacy] What was even more insane was Team Bachmann's response that Wayne's parents met and were married in Waterloo, so OF COURSE, John Wayne is from Waterloo. Never mind his parents left town soon after marrying, and John [real name Marion Morrison] was born in Winterset, Iowa. I don't care what sort of pretzel logic one uses, John Wayne, cinema hero was NOT born in Waterloo, Iowa, or anywhere near it.

The reason I was amazed at some of those who were so quick to jump to Bachmann's aid, are the same sort that pile on when other candidates are accused of misspeaking, even when the accusers are proven wrong, and the candidate right.

Now look, this one incident does not a gaffe machine make, but one must remember, Monday was the day Bachmann "officially" announced her presidential run. [after "officially" announcing on CNN] This is one of the most important day in any politician's career. You'd think they'd get little details, like where one of the most famous actors in history was born.

Not sure if Bachmann herself prepared her talking points or staff did it for her, but someone needs to sharpen up.Problem is, Bachmann is know for saying things that just aren't true.

One curious claim by Bachmann sounds more like something Code Pink, or the other anti-war loons would say. In May, on Fox News Sunday Bachmann told Chris Wallace NATO had killed as many 30,000 Libyans with their air strikes.

The Minnesota congresswoman told Fox News' Chris Wallace that NATO airstrikes had killed up to 30,000 civilians in the country.

"People should be outraged at the foolishness of the president's decision," she said. "He said he wanted to go in for humanitarian purposes and overnight we are hearing that potentially 10 to 30,000 people could have been killed in the strike. Those are some of the reports."

"The NATO strikes killed 10,000 to 30,000 people?" an incredulous Wallace asked.

"A report that came out last night from the Tripoli ambassador said that potentially there could be 10,000 to 30,000," Bachmann insisted.

"You mean the Libyans?" Wallace pressed.

"Yes," Bachmann replied.

Later on the show, Wallace said:

I just want to clear up, because we looked into what Michele Bachmann had been saying. She quoted the U.S. ambassador to Libya saying 30,000 people had been killed in the NATO strike so far. In fact, what Ambassador Gene Cretz said is that he estimated that 30,000 people had been killed by all sides in the entire conflict. That includes the rebels and the Gaddafi forces. So big difference.

This is a big deal. The sort of thing a potential president must be able to get right.

Now no one is perfect, and absolutely everyone who spends any time talking will misspeak from time to time. Everyone. Thing is, Bachmann seems to make it a habit of getting facts wrong. She seems to have a real problem with historical facts.

A few months back Bachmann was in New Hampshire trying to drum up support for a presidential run and let this fly:

Clutching a tea bag in her hand, she told a group of students and conservative activists in Manchester, New Hampshire: ‘You're the state where the shot was heard around the world in Lexington and Concord.’

Never mind this pivotal even in history happened in Concord, MASSACHUSETTS.

Michele has taken to claiming she's the "leader" of the Tea Party movement, and since the original Boston Tea Party started the whole revolution thing, you'd think she's know at least a slight bit of it's history. Especially the big stuff.

Again, this is a small gaffe, in the grand scheme of things, but we've been looking and there is definitely a pattern of Michele Bachmann opening her mouth and random nuttiness coming out of it.

In fact, we found one that is Joe Biden level dumb. To refresh your memory, Remember when Joe Biden was being interviewed by Katy Couric and claimed that FDR went on television and calmed the nation after the stock market crashed in 1929? Never mind Herbert Hoover was President, FDR was Governor of New York [and 3 years away from taking the Office as President] or the fact the first commercial TV license wasn't granted until 1941.



Well, it seems Bachmann doesn't know her early 20th century history either. Back in April of 2009 Bachmann was talking about free markets vs raising taxes. She correctly credit's Calvin Coolidge for overcoming what history now shows us was a worse depression than FDR inherited. History also shows FDR policies made it much worse, kind of like what Obama is doing now.

Problem is, she started railing on "Hoot-Smalley" as bad legislation, and laying it on FDR's doorstep. Now look, I'll give Bachmann a pass on "Hoot-Smalley" because again, if one says enough stuff, at some point they'll say something wrong. But that's not the problem.



Smoot-Hawley better known as the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act was horrible legislation that did nothing but isolate America at a time free trade was needed. It was designed to protect the price of American products, especially produce, but ended up starting a trade war that saw foreign countries enact tariffs of their own, that punished America. These tariffs helped turn another bad recession into what we now call The Great Depression.

The legislation was a complete disaster and was soon overridden by even more legislation to counter-act.

Now I know this seems like such stupid legislation it MUST have been created by a democrat, but it wasn't. It's actually more in line with the sort of nonsense people like Ron Paul and Donald Trump have been advocating lately. Two cats who claim to be Republicans.

In fact, the the 1930 tariff act was co-authored by Republicans Sen. Reed Smoot of Utah and Rep. Willis Hawley of Oregon, and signed into law by Republican President Herbert Hoover, in 1930. FDR took Office as president in March of 1933.

I know some will be jumping on me for daring to bring this up, but it's important people know exactly who Michele Bachmann is now, before we start picking a nominee. Anyone who is paying attention knows that all of a sudden Bachmann has become a darling for some on the left, and even the most far left "journalists" are writing glowing stories on how Bachmann may be "the one." That's because they have hundreds of these sort of real gaffes ready to trot out if she's our nominee.

They also have a whole lot of serious issues that all Americans will be concerned with. Things we'll be touching on ourselves as time goes by.

Again, everyone misspeaks from time to time, but Bachmann has a habit of not even getting the basic facts right, and it's not a new phenomenon. Bachmann also brags about being a lawyer. A tax attorney, in fact. She likes to let people know she's "smart." I don't expect my President to be perfect, or a genius, but I do expect them to rise above the level of Joe Biden!

If Bachmann can't be bothered to the facts right when giving speeches and interviews, how can she be trusted with the keys to the Oval Office? It's becoming quite obvious that neither Bachmann, nor her staff are ready for prime time.

This is why we generally choose Governors to become Presidents. It pays to have actual experience before taking on the most important political job in the world. Some basic knowledge of important history, as well as current facts, isn't too much to ask for either.

America deserves better than Bachmann. 

Bachmann Promises To Mimic The Spirit Of A Serial Killer?

I've heard some saying it was a tad unfair for Chris Wallace to have asked Michele Bachmann if she was a "flake" on Fox News Sunday. [something Wallace has since apologized for, but Bachmann has refused to accept] Anyhow, after reading this, and knowing Bachmann's actual record, you might just tend to think Wallace's question was appropriate.

The Washington Times reports Bachmann [hopefully] got her John Waynes mixed up today when she once again announced she was running for President, in her hometown of Waterloo, Iowa. In an interview, Bachmann promises to mimic the spirit of " Waterloo's John Wayne"

The problem with that is "Waterloo's John Wayne" is serial killer John Wayne Gacy.

Seriously, you can't make this up!

We all think [hope?] she meant the other John Wayne, born Marion Robert Morrison, in Winterset, Iowa. That said, it still shows someone isn't paying attention to the details, be it her handlers, her speech writers, or Bachmann herself. Not exactly confidence inspiring.

Rep. Michele Bachmann kicked off her presidential campaign on Monday in Waterloo, Iowa, and in one interview surrounding the official event she promised to mimic the spirit of Waterloo's own John Wayne.

The only problem, as one eagle-eyed reader notes: Waterloo's John Wayne was not the beloved movie star, but rather John Wayne Gacy, the serial killer.

Mrs. Bachmann grew up in Waterloo, and used the town as the backdrop for her campaign announcement, where she told Fox News: "Well what I want them to know is just like, John Wayne was from Waterloo, Iowa. That's the kind of spirit that I have, too."

John Wayne, the movie legend, is in fact from Iowa and the John Wayne birthplace is a celebrated landmark — only it's in Winterset, which is a nearly three hour drive away from Waterloo.

Gacy, though, had his first taste of the criminal life in Waterloo, where he lived for a short time, and where he had his first criminal conviction for an attempted homosexual assault, which landed him in prison for 18 months.

Why Does Michele Bachmann Want To Throw Military Veterans Under The Bus?

A round of Twitter conversations about Congresswoman Michele Bachmann yielded some incredibly troubling information concerning veterans and their benefits. It seems Bachmann submitted a budget plan that would cut billions from veterans earned benefits.

Now I know we are looking to save billions, if not trillions of dollars, and I am sure there are ways to cut money from every single government program, including the Veterans Administration, but to do it on the backs of our brave men and women who put their lives on the line for us, is totally unacceptable.

Bachmann's plan would freeze health care spending on veterans and REDUCE benefits going to disabled veterans. Yes, REDUCE benefits to those fighting men, and women, wounded in battle, and forever disabled.

Bachmann plan would cut veterans benefits

Tea party favorite Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., has unveiled a plan for cutting $400 billion in federal spending that includes freezing Veterans Affairs Department health care spending and cutting veterans’ disability benefits.

Her proposed VA budget cuts would account for $4.5 billion of the savings included in the plan, posted on her official House of Representatives website.

Paul Sullivan, executive director of Veterans for Common Sense, said cutting veterans’ health care spending is an ill-advised move at a time when the number of veterans continues to grow as troops return from Iraq and Afghanistan. Sullivan said he finds it difficult to see how VA could freeze health care costs without hurting veterans.

"It is really astonishing to see this," he said.

The report goes on to say the Congresswoman issued a statement saying "her plan is intended for discussion purposes as an example of ways to cut federal spending to make it unnecessary to increase the current $14.3 trillion limit on the amount the U.S. government can borrow."

Look, $4.5 billion is not chump change, but when we are talking $14.3 trillion, it's like a single grain of sand in the desert. With all of the waste, and questionable spending by the federal government, you'd think taking money away from our brave members of the military, who are sick and disabled, would be the LAST place one would look to cut spending, not one of the first.

We are fighting wars in three theaters, and military members are injured daily. Many will sadly become disabled as the results of their war injuries. These heroes volunteer to put their lives on the line daily for our Freedom and Liberty. They don't do this for fame, glory, or money. They do it because they love the United States, and want to preserve the Republic and all it stands for. They deserve the first seat at the table, not the table scraps.

Not sure where Bachmann stands on this today, as her plan was released in January, but the fact she would even consider cutting benefits to wounded and disabled veterans, before exhausting every other way of cutting spending, is disgraceful.

Remember, this woman wants to be the Commander-in-Chief of America's Armed Forces.

Michele Bachmann says Sarah Palin should wait till her children are grown up before she runs for the presidency - and implies that the former Alaska governor should have held off on any kind of White House campaign while she still had children in the house.

In a video from last week's Faith and Freedom Conference, Bachmann tells conservative Christian activist Ralph Reed, ""We've raised a lot of children, five biological children, 23 foster kids," Bachmann says. "This fall our youngest two will go off to college, so we're coming to the conclusion now of 29 years of parenting, and I think that's one life lesson that you learn. That sometimes you have patience and wait to do certain things in your life."

Reed then says, "There's a time and a season for everything."

Bachmann responds, "There's a time and a season for everything, that's right."

Palin is famous for making her family a large part of her 2008 vice-presidential campaign, even though her daughter Bristol was pregnant while the campaign was going on, and went on to become a single teenage mom. She also had a baby son, Trig, in 2008. Trig was diagnosed with Down's Syndrome before he was born.

This sort of thing is right out of the Ed Rollins playbook. He likes to make attacks personal, as the sort of candidate he usually hooks up with can't compete on ideas or record of achievement.

We've heard so-called "evangelicals" using this line of attack before, that Sarah Palin's place is at home with the kids, back when Mike Huckabee was still thought to be a contender. It came from his supporters. [though never Governor Huckabee himself] It's not for nothing that Ed Rollins was Huckabee's man before working for Bachmann.

Here's what gets me with this. Michele Bachmann has raised five children and twenty-three foster children, twenty-eight kids in all. That's commendable, to say the least, but as Bachmann points out, she's just now seeing the last ones graduate. Bachmann has been in Congress for quite some time. If she followed the same advice she's giving Sarah Palin, shouldn't she have waited until this year to get into politics?

Can you say hypocrite?

One has to ask why is Bachmann going down this road. She continually rants, when challenged, that she and Sarah Palin are "best of friends." Indeed, it was Sarah Palin that brought record crowds to Minnesota to rally for Bachmann and other GOP candidates in 2010.

One of the problems is, despite all of her rhetoric, Michele Bachmann has few actual accomplishments for all of her years in Congress. Oh, she gives a great speech, but so does Barack Obama. Bachmann has not created any major piece of legislation, or led any sort of movement. She's one of 435 people and nothing, other than empty rhetoric separates her from the herd.

On the other hand, as Steve Bannon reminded everyone the other day, Sarah Palin, who was Governor for just a few months shy of three years [she took office in 2006] accomplished more in that time than most executive level politicians do in a lifetime. Fact is, at the time she left office, Sarah Palin had accomplished every goal she had set before she took office, and then some.

This doesn't count her time as Alaska's top oil and gas regulator, or her time as the two-term Mayor of Wasilla.

That brings to light the other problem with Bachmann. She has no executive experience what-so-ever. None. Zip. Nada. Executive experience, while not constitutionally required, is essential for someone to be a good president. It's why Americans tend to elect governors as presidents.

Speaking of which, Alaska's governor is one of the most powerful in the nation. When the state's founders wrote their constitution, they wanted the buck to stop at the governor's desk. Rather than being a figurehead like some governors, Alaska's governor is a true CEO. When you look at the way Alaska has set things up, if being governor is the best "on the job training" to be president, then being Governor of Alaska is graduate school.

So this is what Bachmann and the other GOP candidates face. Sarah Palin is the most accomplished, most qualified, most successful potential presidential candidate in the country.

Look, we expect the primaries to be a knock-down, drag-out fight. That's how the cream will rise to the top. But this underhanded sniping by a third tier candidate, who claims to be "best of friends" with the target of their petty nonsense is simply not acceptable.

My advice to the GOP show ponies and their little stalking horses is simple. If you can't compete on the issues, go home. We are at war for the soul of this nation. We are trying to save the Republic from certain demise. This is not the time for politics as usual.

With her's and her attack dog Rollins' recent attacks on Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann is turning out to be just another Washington establishment politician, and thus .... part of the problem .... not the solution.

Lying Corrupt Bastards At Politico Make Up Palin Quote

A you know, third tier likely presidential candidate Michele Bachmann's hired establishment hack, Ed Rollins, decided his first action right out of the gate would be to trash Sarah Palin. Never mind he was saying the same things about Bachmann .... until she started paying him.

For her part, Sarah Palin has ignored the two, as neither deserve her time. Sarah's Chief of Staff, Michael Glassner did issue a statement about Rollins, which you can read here.

This wasn't good enough for the gutter snipes who work for Politico though. The left wing website constantly looks for ways to start trouble among Republicans and is notorious for using "anonymous sources" i.e., the voices in their heads. They are also notorious for lying about Sarah Palin and anyone connected to her.

This time they went further than normal. They actually made up a quote and attributed it to Sarah Palin. Under the title Will rivalry make Sarah Palin run? Paul Goldman and Mark J. Rozell [yeah, it takes two of these crapweasels to write this nonsense] wrote the following paragraph: [emphasis mine]

Palin’s bus tour had some of the hallmarks of a primal scream: I built this constituency, not Bachmann, not anyone else. Looking at it through her eyes, she has a point.

Now anyone who's paying attention knows Sarah Palin routinely rejects the idea that she's somehow the leader of the Tea Party movement. She speaks quite humbly about her own political strengths. The hacks at Politico give the impression though, that those words came out of her mouth.

An absurd opinion piece in Politico includes a quote attributed to Governor Palin that is a total fabrication and yet is deliberately written to appear as if it is a legitimate direct quote. By any standard this is unacceptable even for an opinion piece. This puts us in mind of a real quote of something Governor Palin actually did once say to the media: "Quit making stuff up."

For those that remember the huge JournOList scandal, it's good to remember that Politico has more known members of that corrupt cabal, than any other "news" site. Politico engages in gutter journalism and should never be taken as a serious news source. The fact is, they lie when the truth would work better.

Michele Bachmann's hired GOP establishment attack dog, Ed Rollins, has stirred up a hornet nest among Conservatives and Tea Party members, as the guy has a record of trashing both. It's still hard to fathom why Bachmann hired someone like this. At any rate, Sarah Palin's Chief of Staff Michael Glassner talked to POLITCO about the loose cannon:

"Beltway political strategist Ed Rollins has a long, long track record of taking high profile jobs and promptly sticking his foot in his mouth," said Sarah PAC chief of staff Michael Glassner in an emailed statement. "To no one's surprise he has done it again, while also fueling a contrived narrative about the presidential race by the mainstream media. One would expect that his woodshed moment is coming and that a retraction will be issued soon."

A Bachmann aide blew off Rollins' nastiness by saying he was "working in his role in his media analyst" at the time he spewed his nonsense. Where I come from those are weasel words. Bachmann hired this loser knowing what he was, and it's doubtful he went on the attack without her approval. Bachmann needs to own this. If she can't keep this loon on a leash, how does she think she'll be able to serve in an executive position?

Michele Bachmann: I Stand For The Same Values That My Parents Stood For When We Were [Carter] Democrats

Here's an interesting little bit of information about Michele Bachmann. It seems her family were democrats. Not shocking on it's own. Hell, Ronald Reagan was a democrat for half of his life. But they weren't just any democrats. Michele and her husband actually worked to elect Jimmy Carter, the second worst president in history, after Obama, and a socialist.

I know people can change, and this interview is a couple years old, but just how much has she really changed?

Surrounding herself with GOP insiders instead of solid Conservatives may provide the answers. The GOP estblishment has always been little more than democrat lite, and has been moving steadily to the left for years. That Bachmann has chosen to throw in with the establishment, rather than Conservative members of the Republican Party says it all.

Now you know why former Carter AND Mondale staffer [and faux conservative] Charles Krauthammer speaks so well of Bachmann. Birds of a feather and all.

Speaking to the St. Cloud Times about her growing role on the national stage, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) references her past as a diehard Carter-Mondale supporter:

Q: You’ve been described as Democrats’ Public Enemy No. 1. How do you feel about being a target?

A: In being forceful and fighting for the positions that I’m standing for, I obviously must pose a threat for liberals advancing their agenda. I say that because I grew up a Democrat in a Democrat family. My husband and I both worked on Jimmy Carter’s presidential campaign. The first time I ever came to Washington was to dance at Walter Mondale’s inaugural ball. It was a thrill for my husband and me, and we were both happy to work on behalf of Walter Mondale and Jimmy Carter. We really believed in them when we were in college. So in some ways I don’t understand why the Democratic Party would be opposed to me, because I stand for the same values that my parents stood for when we were Democrats.
