Sarah Palin on Defeating Obama in 2012: "I have that fire in my belly"
I think my problem is that I do have that fire in my belly. I am so adamantly supportive of the good traditional things about America and our free enterprise system and I want to make sure that America is put back on the right track and we only do that by defeating Obama in 2012. I have that fire in my belly.
~ Sarah Palin
This is a great interview. Sarah Palin pretty much answers THE question, without "officially" answering it. But there is much more.
Sarah is still taking Newt Gingrich to the woodshed and goes after the rest of the "good old boys" of the GOP establishment:
You know what I thought after the whole Newt Gingrich thing in these last 24 hours, Greta, was ‘bless his heart and every other Good Ol’ boy’s heart that’s in that political game there in the beltway. They don’t really know any more than the rest of us.’
Greta, it was Newt Gingrich who told me in January of this year “Sarah Palin needs to slow down and really think through what it is she has to say.” Well you know, he stumbles too. We all stumble. We all have our strengths and our weaknesses and I think what you’re going to see is a field of candidates that are pretty much all on par. It’s going to be a level playing field and our records and our intentions for what it is that we want to see this country become will be what the voters will have to judge us on. Not these little slip-ups.
A lot of the interview is also dedicated to discussing how to handle the corrupt media, and what the media's real role is in vetting candidates for high office, something they obviously failed to do with Obama.
Good stuff all around.

Sneak Peek: Sarah Palin to Media: Lay Off the Petty Stuff
Fox News Insider offers us a little sneak preview from tonight's interview with Greta. Sarah Palin is fiesty, to say the least. She also makes a good point, when the media is telling a bunch of lies about you and your family, you simply can't sit back and let them. That's what's wrong now. Too many do. It's also why it;'s hard to get good people to run for elected office.
On tonight’s On the Record, Greta and Sarah Palin have an exchange about the role of media in politics. Palin says, “Come after us based on our record, based on our present-day statements about what we intend to do to, for, with this country. Don’t come after us for little, petty, stupid things”. Check out this sneak peek to see how Palin responded when Greta suggested she and other politicians not “take the bait”.
Tune in to On the Record at 10p/1a ET for the full interview.

Sarah Palin Takes D.C. By Storm

By Gary P Jackson
No, this isn't a preview of Sarah Palin's first day in Office! [but it could be] No, this is just another day in the life of Sarah Palin as she raises money for charity and thrills the crowds.
As you know, the "big show" in town on Saturday was the White House Correspondent's Dinner, that annual "roast" of the president, or in Obama's case, love fest. The big news there was Obama going after Trump. Yawn. Low hanging fruit.
While the evening activities were certainly the focal point for those attending, the real buzz in town was Sarah Palin, who didn't even attend the event!
Sarah, Todd, Bristol, along with their hosts Greta Van Susteren and her husband John Coale were making the rounds though, and helping raise money for charity. Bristol did go to the "Nerd Prom" as those not invited to the Correspondent's Dinner are fond of calling it. She was the guest of People Magazine, as we reported she would be. Our friend Adrienne Ross was part of the crew as well. More on that in a bit.
The morning started off at the annual White House garden Brunch, hosted by Tammy Haddad. This charity event raises money to find a cure for children with epilepsy. This was Todd's second trip to the brunch, as he attended in 2009 as Greta's guest, while Sarah was in Alaska attending to the business of governing the state.
Speaking of Todd, the big talk was his newly shaven face. Of course this fueled speculation of an impending run by Sarah. Many seeing this as sign Todd will be spending a lot of time in warmer climates in the coming months. Or, it could just be he was sick of his trademark goatee.
From Politico's Patrick Gavin:
Make no mistake about it: The big star at Tammy Haddad's eighteenth annual garden brunch was not, say, Chace Crawford, Morgan Fairchild or Shaun White. The biggest head-turner was Sarah Palin, who attended the party with Fox News' s Greta Van Susteren. Palin was also accompanied by her husband, Todd, and daughter Bristol.
We had to ask: Why was the former Alaska governor, who has knocked the Georgetown cocktail party crowd in the past, at the brunch?
"The nice thing about this is we're doing this for a cause, for special needs, which, of course, is near and dear to my heart," Palin told POLITICO. "A nice social event combined with helping to raise awareness and funds for special needs. We're honored to be here."
And is Palin looking forward to bumping into Donald Trump, another of the weekend's most-buzzed-about guests, at some point?
"He's our buddy! We appreciate and respect Donald Trump," she said.
Once inside, guests of all stripes angled to get a picture with Palin, including astronaut Buzz Aldrin.
The hubbub was enough to cause one reporter to quip: "Look at all these reporters who typically rip her a new one mosey on up to her, desperate to get a photograph."
This trend of members of the lamestream media wanting to get next to Sarah would continue well into the night. More on that later, as well. .
L to R: Greta, David & Susan Axelrod [who have a special needs child] Sarah, Wendi & Rupert Murdoch [Lynn Sweet photo]
Next up on Sarah's list was the Heroes Among Us dinner she and Lila Rose headlined. The event celebrates mothers and raises money for pro-life causes. Sarah often speaks at these events nationwide.
WHCD? Palin chooses life.
BETHESDA, Md. - Sarah Palin boasted to a group of anti-abortion advocates Saturday that she had a chance to attend the White House Correspondents' Dinner - but chose to spend her time with them instead.
"The pro-life cause or White House Correspondents' Dinner? I choose life," Palin told a crowd of about 200 at a fundraiser for the anti-abortion advertising group Heroic Media.
Palin said journalism's nerd prom didn't have the same appeal for her as presidential hopefuls who attended, like Donald Trump, Newt Gingrich and Jon Huntsman. "You really see evidence of that influence out there of - you know - the celebrity, how the news is, and the political arena, and how it all kind of meshes together. That's what the White House Correspondents' Dinner is," she said.
So instead Palin spoke for more than 45 minutes at a "Jews for Sarah" gathering at a hotel here.
She never mentioned Israel during her remarks, but she stumped hard against Planned Parenthood and abortion rights advocates, encouraging her listeners to continue fighting for "positive pro-life messages" in the media.
"We're not going to be absent from that arena," she said. "I think we kind of want to infiltrate it. We want to get in there and affect that change."
Palin praised Heroic Media's advertising against abortion, on billboards, online and in social media. She also presented an award to Lila Rose, the videographer and activist who did a video sting operation against Planned Parenthood and worked with James O'Keefe on his sting against ACORN.
"Planned Parenthood doesn't empower women, or offer women who find themselves in less than ideal circumstances any kind of real choice," she said. "What they offer is not real choice or female health care."
Jewish Americas For Sarah Palin [Jews for Sarah] is a group of Conservative Jewish leaders headed by our friend Benyamin Korn. They have been strong supporters of Sarah and her policies. Make sure you check their website out.
After the event, Sarah and Todd went to the Vanity Fair/Bloomberg after-party for the White House crowd, at the French Ambassador's residence, where they caught back up with Bristol, Greta, and her husband John. From there it was over to the MSNBC [yes, you read that right, MSNBC] after-party, held at the Italian Embassy.
Just as it was with the morning brunch, as soon as people learned Sarah was at these events, the people who normally spend their time bashing her, fell all over themselves trying to spend time with her. Reading the reactions on Twitter last night was entertaining!
NBC's Andrea Mitchell, who's been know to lose her mind around Sarah anyway, tweeted:
@maddow now tending bar @msnbc party serving diet coke to @gretawire guest @sarahpalinusa really no joke
That would be MSNBC's anchor Rachel Maddow, who was taking a turn as bartender for the guests.

Felicia Sonmez, the Washington Post's political blogger reported through a series of tweets:
"@sarahpalinusa was at msnbc afterparty… Msnbc’s rachel maddow offered to make @sarahpalinusa a drink, & palin asked for a diet coke. Maddow brought 1 over a few mins later…Then both had a v pleasant exchange in which it sounded like r. maddow invited s. palin on the show 1 day and palin responded positively… palin was mobbed once guests realized she was there… Asked whether she’s running for potus, palin said a decision’s still a few months off and she’s still sizing up the field… She said she’s not satisfied yet with those who’ve already announced, but won’t make a decision until the summer. Also: family a big factor
MSNBC had their own version of events:
Greta Van Susteran ran off to find the guest bartender, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow, and procure the needed caffeiniated beverage.
Surely Maddow was happy to oblige, after the former vice presidential nominee said how much she "admires" the journalist.
"Your work ethic shines," she said to the MSNBC anchor.
An interesting admiration, to be sure. Earlier, while on the red carpet with her husband, Todd, Palin named Van Susteran as her choice for today's most influential journalist.
BTW, I agree with Sarah when it comes to Greta Van Susteren, no one is better. [Bill O'Reilly's massive ego hardest hit!]
Speaking of Greta, she has a nice report here.
The Huffington Post has a photo gallery up, including Sarah talking to Rachel Maddow. Check it all out here.
Emily Miller, Muckraker.... and Senior Editor of the Washington Times Editorial and Opinion pages. posted this photo, and said: "Best part of the night... Sarah Palin! She said I look pretty. I adore her"
Luke Russert posted this photo.
On Sunday Greta was still talking about how Sarah stole the entire show in D.C. Saturday night!
Governor Sarah Palin and the media (all of them!)
What is is about Governor Sarah Palin and the media? Last night she was in DC to give a speech and thus could not attend the White House Correspondents Dinner.
She DID go to two after parties to meet some people and catch up with her daughter Bristol who was in town for the dinner.
But what is fascinating to watch is how the media (all of them!) just can't get enough of Governor Sarah Palin. They were all taking pictures of her with themselves for souvenirs and writing about her. She was prominent in the Washington Post coverage, Politico and I think the New York Times. Her name and picture was everywhere!
With all the movie stars at the dinner, and big media and government names (Cabinet Secretaries and Senators etc.), whose picture does Vanity Fair show? You guessed it ...(and she was only at their after party and not the dinner!)
Read more here.
Uffda at Barbaric Thoughts put together a nice compilation of tweets and assorted cellphone cam photos. Check it out.
As I said earlier, our friend Adrienne Ross was also with the group. Adrienne is one of Sarah's long time supporters and one heck of a writer and Conservative advocate. Adrienne shares some photos with her readers, here's a couple:
Check out the rest of her photos, and her account of the day here. While you're there, make sure you bookmark her blog. It's essential reading.
My thoughts on all of this:
Once again, Sarah Palin shows she's fearless. Somehow I doubt any of the GOP show ponies would have the guts to dive right into the Washington liberal scene, or as Andrew Breitbart calls it, the Democrat Media Complex. Most especially if they had been treated the way this bunch has treated Sarah.
Of course, as violent union thugs were running wild in Wisconsin, Sarah Palin went right to Madison and took it too em. Took em all head on and stood with the American people.
I KNOW none of the Republican establishment would have the guts to do that!
But there's more to it, and this is what sets Sarah Palin apart from the crowd.
Not only did she go in support of a couple of great charities, and then have some fun and network a bit, at the after-parties, she was gracious while doing it.
She treated these people the way she'd want to be treated, not the way she has been treated by them. She was generous with her time, and had some long and serious conversations as well as just hanging out and having fun.
She spend a fair amount of time with the financial reporter from the New York Observer explaining why QE2 was dangerous. Freaked him out!
I'm reminded of something Sarah said last year during the heated election season: "We are going to stay happy and may we always be happy and may our enemies know it!"
Sarah Palin is a happy warrior, just like the great Ronald Reagan. Reagan had the same dynamic with the media as Sarah, and like her, always had the last laugh. I enjoyed that dynamic of the Reagan presidency very much. It's fun to have that sort of thing again.
Below are some photos from the day. Enjoy.

Confident Sarah Palin Continues To Pound Barack Obama "On The Record"
By Gary P Jackson
On the heels of her beat down via Facebook, on Tuesday morning, Sarah Palin went On The Record with Greta Van Susteren on Tuesday night, where she continued to whip Obama like a rented mule.
Right out of the gate Greta highlighted one of Sarah's comments from the earlier Facebook post:
It’s unbelievable to me that you spent last week in campaign mode, gallivanting around the country to start raising the billion dollars for your reelection bid that is still 19 months away "while Rome burns." Our economy is in the tank; jobs are as scarce as ever; you’re asking Congress to let you incur even more unsustainable, immoral, freedom-stealing government debt; and many of our brave men and women in uniform are shaking their heads in disbelief over your befuddled military directions. After hammering Obama for being in campaign mode, and trying to raise $1 billion for an election that is [gulp] 19 months away, instead of focusing on the nation's challenges, she starts in on high gasoline prices, Libya [and Obama's incoherent foreign policy in general] and more.
Yet instead of working with Congress and a wise multitude of advisers to fix some problems, you choose all this campaigning, already? As was recently asked: When do you ever just "roll up your sleeves, unplug the teleprompter" and do the job of governing and administrating for which voters hired you?
Sarah reminds us we can't afford to have the nation's Commander-in-Chief, our CEO, in campaign mode while "Rome burns"!
Sarah goes on to say it's almost like Obama can't be bothered by all of these issues of the day because he's too busy either running for re-election, playing golf, or going on holiday!
She goes on to say, if that's the case, the best thing is for government to just get out of the way! Stop with the insane regulations, quantitative easing [printing money, monetizing the debt], coming up with more "stimulus plans" and other nonsense, and just let private businesses and the free market do it's thing!
Sarah bluntly states nothing is going to change until Obama is out of office.
This is a wonderful interview. Sarah Palin is proving she is a confident stateswoman, and very much at ease talking about issues and policy. This folks, is what a leader looks and sounds like. I know it's been a while since most have seen or heard one, which is why I point this out.
There is also a twinkle in Sarah's eyes. She's a warrior, but a happy one. She reminds me so much of the great Ronald Reagan. He was one tough hombre, but he was always happy and optimistic as well.
Sarah comes off the exact same way. Both in this interview, as well as her Facebook smack-down. She's tough, but not mean, and uses a fair bit of sarcasm and wit to go along with the beating she's giving Obama.
The entire interview is powerful, insightful, and even a bit of fun.
At one point she off-handedly mentions Bill Ayers and the fact that he "allegedly" wrote Obama's first book. She did this as she was taking a shot at Trump and others who were wasting time on nonsensical issues, while REAL issues were being ignored.
She points out the media is loving these distractions, as is the Obama regime.
As we have noted before, the "birther" issue helps Obama more than it hurts him. What she's saying is: Now that Trump has everyone's attention, he needs to be talking about substantive issues, something he is not doing.
This all gets back to what she told Sean Hannity last week, when she said it was way too early for her, or anyone else to be running for President. Too many more important issues to be focused on, rather than wasting time gearing up for 2012 and an election that is still almost 2 years away.
Leadership vs politics.
Sarah also gets a nice little shot in at Katie Couric at the end of the interview. Dee-licious!
Enjoy.

Sarah Palin: Helping Haiti this Christmas
A Christmas message from Sarah Palin:
If you are still looking for a cause to donate to this Christmas, allow me to make a suggestion. Todd, Bristol, Greta Van Susteren, and I recently traveled to Haiti to witness first hand the amazing work done by Rev. Franklin Graham’s organization Samaritan’s Purse. Bristol wrote about our experiences on her Facebook page here.
In an effort to fight a deadly cholera outbreak in Haiti, Samaritan’s Purse has flown over a dozen flights carrying vital medical supplies to the two cholera treatment centers it has been running since the start of the outbreak. These centers, run by medical volunteers from the U.S., Canada, and the UK, have helped save the lives of nearly 5,000 patients.
The cholera treatment centers are part of a larger Samaritan’s Purse effort aimed at restoring the human dignity and economic independence of the Haitian people. Since the disastrous earthquake in January of this year, Samaritan’s Purse has spent $29 million on relief, helping more than half a million people by building 10,000 shelters (more than half of the shelters built in Haiti to date have been put up by Samaritan’s Purse); providing non-cholera related medical assistance (including 250 surgeries) to a total of 43,000 patients; providing clean drinking water to more than 75,000 people; and clearing the rubble from 179 building sites.
None of this would have been possible without the generosity of countless small donors. With all the blessings bestowed upon us in this great country of ours, we also have an opportunity to share those blessings with people who are less fortunate. Samaritan’s Purse is doing exactly that – saving lives one person at a time.
If you’d like to support the great work Samaritan’s Purse does in Haiti and around the world, please visit their website.
Below you’ll find some photos of our Haiti visit taken by Greta Van Susteren. They show what we saw at a temporary housing camp, at the cholera clinics in Bercy and Cité Soleil, and at a meeting where we helped to bring smiles to children’s faces by handing out shoeboxes filled with presents as part of Samaritan's Purse’s worldwide Operation Christmas Child.
~ Sarah Palin
The people of Haiti are in real trouble. The cholera outbreak is killing them off left and right. The conditions after the earthquake are deplorable. To make matter's worse, their government is in complete turmoil. This is a good lesson in my depending on government isn't the best course of action. Even though this is one of the things governments should try to help with, depending on them can be hazardous to your health.
Samaritan's Purse is doing God's work down there. They are making a real difference. If you are looking to give to a worthy charity that will actually make a difference, this is the one.
You can help by visiting their website here.
Both Sarah and Bristol have a bunch of photos from their trip to Haiti, taken by shutterbug Greta Van Susteren. They are both heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time. Visit Sarah's page here and Bristol's page here to check them out.
Have a blessed Christmas

Reporting On Sarah Palin In Haiti: The Corrupt Media Has Finally Jumped the Shark
Jumping the shark is an idiom used to denote the point in a television program's history where the plot spins off into absurd storylines or unlikely characterizations. These changes were often the result of efforts to revive interest in a show whose audience had begun to decline.
From 1974 thru 1984 one of the most popular shows on television was Happy Days, a nostalgic look at the 1950s that starred Henry Winkler and Ron Howard, along with a strong supporting cast. Happy Days was one of those shows that everyone watched and pretty much everyone enjoyed. It was one of the rare shows that was so good it spawned a spin-off series using beloved characters from the show that was also a major hit.
Cindy Williams and Penny Marshall would star in another wildly popular show called Laverne and Shirley.
Happy Days is the kind of show that really becomes part of the culture, and can run pretty much forever in syndication. Sadly, the show ran into a brick wall and destroyed the integrity of the series. What radio personality Jon Hein described as “A defining moment when you know that your favorite television program has reached its peak. That instant that you know from now on...it's all downhill.”
In 1977 as part of a three episode opening, the show's central characters visit Los Angeles. Henry Winkler's character, “Fonzie,” has his bravery challenged. In what turned out to be better on paper than on TV, the script called for “The Fonz” to jump a captive shark. So here's one of the most popular characters on TV, dressed in swimming trunks, and wearing his trademark black leather jacket, on a pair of water skis. It was as ridiculous as it sounds.
The show continued for six more seasons, but it was never the same after that. The writers had gone from believable situations to the ridiculous, and it effected the viewer's perception of the show.
So significant was this to our culture, “jumping the shark” has become almost synonymous for failure. For doing something so ridiculous it destroys the credibility of everything one does going forward.
This leads us to 2010 and the corrupt lamestream media's reporting on Sarah Palin. Now it's been dishonest to the point of ridiculousness and absurdity for quite some time now, but I think Sarah's trip to Haiti with Reverend Franklin Graham and Greta Van Susteren, on behalf of Samaritan's Purse, is the final straw. The true “jump the shark” moment.
As usual the media got pretty much everything wrong in it's reporting. In other words, lied. I use the word lie, because these so-called “journalists” are old hats at this, and know full well how these trips work. They made a choice to lie to their readers. A willful, knowing, and deliberate choice.
Stacy Drake wrote a hard hitting piece calling out the Associate Press' Jonathan Katz for his completely dishonest reporting. You should read it here.
Stacy points out a serious problem. The media is corrupt and lies outright to create the narrative they want you to believe, rather than the truth. While this is dangerous to the Republic and a direct assault on Freedom and Liberty, it's not what you could call a “jump the shark” moment. No, that's what we call “business as usual.”
The true “jump the shark” moment would come from this: The media attempts to destroy Sarah's street cred as an independent, hard working, everywoman constantly. They claim she can't really shoot, though we watch her shoot quite well during her 8-part travelogue, Sarah Palin's Alaska. They claim she can't fish, even though we see her and her family pull in salmon by the hundreds, as well as watch her help haul in ginormous halibut on the open seas.
When all else fails, they go for the Diva angle. That's easy for mindless liberals to understand. Of course, that theory has been blown all to hell by Sarah Palin's Alaska as well. We've seen Sarah with no make-up, covered in fish slime and guts. Sweating from working out, and from climbing the face of a glacier. Of course, we've seen her dressed up as well, just as you would any other woman in real life.
Anyhow, since it's easy, and hack “journalists” are lazy ….
This brings us to the trip to Haiti and the jumping of the shark.
As pointed out above, one of the folks who went on this trip was Greta Van Sustern. She has traveled with Franklin Graham before on these relief missions. She does a good job of reporting. Anyhow, bless her heart, Greta loves all things techie, and really loves blogging. She always posts photos when she is out and about. In the photo below you'll notice Sarah and Todd, and you'll see Bristol, second from the right, with a pony tail and scarf:
Now fast forward a bit.
The far left hate site, Palingates, came up with a photo of Sarah, posted it and of course sent it, and their latest conspiracy theory, around to their enablers in the so-called “straight” media. If you aren't familiar with these loons, once based in France, now we believe in Germany, they are insane Palin haters. And I DO mean insane! They are the ones who started the lie that Sarah's son Trig is really Bristol's baby, a lie they continue to peddle to this day. [and many media outlets give credence to]
This photo, and the corresponding lie, was picked up by the notoriously vile Huffington Post. HuffPo of course has strong ties with anti-Palin bloggers including those hand picked by Obama's now Chief of Staff, Pete Rouse. They give space to all, and the so-called “respectable media” picks it up like it's the gospel truth.
One would think HuffPo would be more interested in getting it's own house in order rather than pushing nonsense on the American people. Just a few days ago, noted Palin hating Huffpo blogger, and Columbia professor, David Epstein was busted for having a long term incestuous relationship with his daughter. This is sick to say the least, but sadly typical of the “quality” of writers allowed to work for HuffPo, so long as they trash Sarah Palin. Stacy McCain has all of the sordid details on this sick bastard, Epstein, here.
The photo in question? Look for yourself.
Now bear in mind, Palingates is pushing the idea that Sarah, the Diva that she is, had a full staff with her, including a “hairdresser” to keep her looking good. They somehow divined this knowledge from studying this single photograph, and most likely some heavy narcotics intake. Without batting an eye, HuffPo and others, like the UK's Daily Mail used this lunacy to paint Sarah as someone who cares more about how she looks in front of the cameras than the poor people of Haiti and their suffering.
Now it should worry the hell out of all Americans that media worldwide use sources like Palingates, a bunch of absolute loons that make Jesse Ventura and Alex Jones look credible, as “trusted sources.”
Looking at the photo what we REALLY see is Sarah standing there while her “hairdresser,” daughter Bristol, fixes something that is awry. We see mothers do this all of the time to their daughters when something like a hairpin comes lose, and well, obviously daughters return the favor. This doesn't mean anyone is vain, it just means most folks want to look groomed and nice, and their loved ones want that as well.
The true jump the shark moment here is the fact the media absolutely knew this was Bristol, but chose to call her “Sarah's hairdresser” and characterized what is little more that having some stray hairs put in their place, to “having her hair done.”
This is where the plot spins off into “absurd storylines or unlikely characterizations.” It proves the media is so desperate that it will actually publish photos showing one thing, and one group of people, and yet tell you something totally different is happening, and other people, not those in the photo are actually there. It would be hilarious, if it wasn't so dangerous.
This sort of thing is destroying the Republic. A free nation cannot survive and be successful without a free and honest press. Something that is increasingly hard to find in the 21st century. The media does this with more people and more situations than Sarah Palin and her activities, of course. It's just their lies are so blatant, and easily debunked, that it shows the desperation among the left to create a false reality about what is really happening in America.
For Sarah's part, her message from Haiti is clear. She urges Americans to not forget Haiti. Damned shame the Palin hating progressives can't get on board with that message, instead of the lunacy they spout.
For the corrupt media, and the progressive movement, from now on...it's all downhill. They have truly jumped the shark.
