In the wake of the recent financial meltdown, Americans know that we need reform. Not only have many individuals learned lessons about personal responsibility through this, but we’ve been able to engage in a discussion about government’s appropriate role.


The current debate over financial reform demonstrates what happens when political leaders react to a crisis with a raft of new regulations. First off, the people involved in writing government regulations are often lobbyists from the very industry that the new laws are supposed to regulate, and that’s been the case here. It should surprise no one that financial lobbyists are flocking to DC this week. Of course, the big players who can afford lobbyists work the regulations in their favor, while their smaller competitors are left out in the cold. The result here are regulations that institutionalize the "too big to fail" mentality.


Moreover, the financial reform bill gives regulators the power to pick winners and losers, institutionalizing their ability to decide "which firms to rescue or close, and which creditors to reward and how." Does anyone doubt that firms with the most lobbyists and the biggest campaign donations will be the ones who get seats in the lifeboat? The president is trying to convince us that he’s taking on the Wall Street "fat cats," but firms like Goldman Sachs are happy with federal regulation because, as one of their lobbyists recently stated, "We partner with regulators."


They seem to have a nice relationship with the White House too. Goldman showered nearly a million dollars in campaign contributions on candidate Obama. In fact, J.P. Freire notes that President Obama received about seven times more money from Goldman than President Bush received from Enron. Of course, it’s not just the donations; it’s the revolving door. You’ll find the name Goldman Sachs on many an Obama administration résumé, including Rahm Emanuel’s and Tim Geithner’s chief of staff’s.


We need to be on our guard against such crony capitalism. We fought against distortion of the market in Alaska when we confronted "Big Oil," or more specifically some of the players in the industry and in political office, who were taking the 49th state for a ride. My administration challenged lax rules that seemed to allow corruption, and we even challenged the largest corporation in the world at the time for not abiding by provisions in contracts it held with the state. When it came time to craft a plan for a natural gas pipeline, we insisted on transparency and a level playing field to insure fair competition. Our reforms helped reduce politicians’ ability to play favorites and helped clean up corruption. We set up stricter oversight offices and ushered through a bi-partisan ethics reform bill. Far from being against necessary reform, I embrace it.


Commonsense conservatives acknowledge the need for financial reform and believe that government can play an appropriate role in leveling the playing field and protecting "the dynamism of American capitalism without neglecting the government’s responsibility to protect the American public." We’re listening closely to the reform discussion in Washington, and we know that government should not burden the market with unnecessary bureaucracy and distorted incentives, nor make a dangerous "too-big-to-fail" mentality the law of the land.

Stopping corruption, and having complete transparency in government,  is a subject Sarah Palin knows a little something about. Above she modestly talks about taking on "Big Oil" in Alaska. That was an epic battle!

We should also remember that Sarah, while working as the state’s chief energy and environmental regulator, found massive corruption within her own Republican Party. Those included were the party chairman, and a former Attorney General. When she was through fines were paid, and some were trotted off to prison.

Contrast Sarah with Barack Obama. Chicago is world famous for it’s corruption. Being a corrupt Chicago politician is almost a given, especially if one is a member of the democrat party. The guy who is running for Obama’s old seat has Mob connections for God’s sake! While Obama was putting on a dog and pony show today on Wall Street, he was pretty silent all those years when he was in an incredibly target rich environment.

The difference between the courage Sarah Palin shows standing up to corruption vs Obama’s willingness to wallow in it, is breathtaking.

What’s very interesting about the snake oil Obama was peddling today is the fact that as soon as he was done with his circus act, he and his cronies retired to a swanky $30,000 a plate fund raising dinner attended by the same "greedy Wall Street bankers" he had just went off on!

One has to ask what the real end game is here. Is this another Big Government, power grab, where Obama is trying to impress the Castro(s) and the Chavez(s) of the world with the speed he can take over the economy, and turn America into a communist hell hole, a banana republic, or is this a good old fashioned Chicago style shake down, with Wall Street paying "tribute" to the head of this gangster government?

Hard to know, could be a little of both.

While irony-challenged Democratic candidates like mob-linked banker Alexi Giannoulias in Illinois (who hopes to fill Obama’s old Senate seat) call on Republicans to return their fat-cat Goldman Sachs donations, the Democrats are silent on the $994,795 in Goldman Sachs campaign cash that Obama bagged. The class-warfare Dems are also mum on all the president’s Goldman Sachs men sitting in the catbird’s seat:

On Friday tens of millions of dollars, possibly hundreds of millions were made or lost on Goldman Sachs stock and options.


Friday was option expiry which meant puts and calls, the right to sell or buy Goldman Sachs stocks at preset prices expired. Goldman Sachs puts – the right to sell stock at a set price – increased at some strike prices by more than a hundred fold.


The SEC announcement cause this to happen in the space of two hours. At 12:00 pm Friday trading in April puts and calls ceased trading. Those who sold calls or bought puts before the announcement made big money.


Somebody made at the least tens of millions, probably a lot more because of the announcement.


It would be interesting to know who they were and what they knew in advance.

As the photo on her website suggests, the big benefactor in this whole deal could very well be Nazi collaborator, self-proclaimed "owner of the democrat party" and Obama puppet master extraordinaire: George Soros.

Remember, Soros made his billions by crashing the British pound and has reportedly done very well betting against the American economy since Obama has been in office. Of course who could forget the fact that just three days after Soros purchased controlling interest in Brazilian oil company Petrobas, Obama sent $10 billion down there so the Brazilian oil giant could do more off shore oil exploration. These were ten billion tax payer dollars.

Let us also remember that Obama has also effective shut down all meaningful off shore oil exploration in the United States, even stopping already scheduled lease sales. We absolutely know who this little deal helps!

For a radical Marxist, who continually prattles on about the evils of capitalism, and "rich fat cats" he sure doesn’t have a problem engaging in massive corruption to help out his incredibly rich buddy Soros, does he?

With apologies to Winston Churchill, Obama is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma. This is why he is so hard to pin down. Is he a radical communist bent on destroying America and the American way by any and all means possible, or is he Chicago street thug...a two bit gangster...an incredibly corrupt human being who is on the take?

Sarah Palin Is The Heroine In Brand New Children’s Book

Here’s one the corrupt Obamacentric media will never report. This reporting by the Polish News comes to us via our intrepid internet scout Cheri V:

While the former Governor and Vice Presidential candidate has achieved success with record book sales and support for a 2012 presidential election bid, she has also achieved something else few public figures ever have: heroine status in a children’s book.

In a cameo appearance, "Governor Sarah," a Palin lookalike character, attempts to help two boys with a struggling swingset business hang onto the American Dream despite high taxes, burdensome regulations and 246 czars in the recently released children’s book Help! Mom! Radicals Are Ruining My Country!, by bestselling- author Katharine DeBrecht.

"I am trying to let all Americans know that these radicals are killing the American Dream and I want to stop them from hurting people that produce products and provide jobs," the Palin character consoles the frustrated boys. The book then describes an all-out media assault on the Palin figure based on false rumors which discourages the boys:


Unfortunately later that night, while the boys were still ruffling through their bills, they saw a special report on TV. The TV anchorwoman beamed "We have breaking news just in from a 37 year old man who lives in his parents’ basement that Governor Sarah’s mother is actually an alien."


The anchorwoman excitedly went on, "And from this exclusive source, we can confirm that Governor Sarah feeds her children dog food for breakfast, lunch and dinner."


Disheartened, the boys contemplate the ramifications of the assault on Governor Sarah, wondering if children have been given a green light to spread untrue gossip and whether such actions would discourage other children from public service.

"I was always taught not to spread mean rumors about people," Lou looked at Tommy.


"I know," Tommy frowned at this brother. "She seems like a nice lady. I wonder if any of the kids at school are now going to think it is okay to spread untrue gossip about people."


"Yeah," Lou agreed. "I feel bad for Susie Sattely who is running for student council. She is a really nice girl. I wonder who is going to make up something about her."

DeBrecht said it was imperative to include the Palin-like character in the book in order to teach a valuable lesson to kids. "In this internet age, we need to let our kids know that it is wrong to spread rumors and lies. Unfortunately, many so-called journalists have basically told children that this is permissible as long as you disagree with someone’s opinions."

In regards to future political servants, DeBrecht goes on, "Our kids deserve better than the shameful example that has been set before them. What message does this send to little girls who may want to enter the political arena? Don’t you dare lest you be Palinized?"

This sounds like an interesting book, and certainly seems to deliver a good message. The far left radicals have been churning out propaganda books aimed at children by the hundreds for years. The radicals push everything from the global warming hoax, to the gay lifestyle, to disdain for capitalism on the kids. It’s refreshing to see an author who wants to give the kids a popular message.

Outrageous: Obama May Allow Americans To Be Tried For War Crimes At The Hague

Why wouldn't the Post-American President allow this? After all, he already plans to try the CIA members who interrogated jihadis at Gitmo, and Navy Seals who captured a top jihadist. Why should he have any problem with this?

"Prosecuting American 'War Crimes': The International Criminal Court claims jurisdiction over U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan," by Daniel Schwammenthal in the Wall Street Journal, November 26:

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressed "great regret" in August that the U.S. is not a signatory to the International Criminal Court (ICC). This has fueled speculation that the Obama administration may reverse another Bush policy and sign up for what could lead to the trial of Americans for war crimes in The Hague.

The ICC's chief prosecutor, though, has no intention of waiting for Washington to submit to the court's authority. Luis Moreno Ocampo says he already has jurisdiction--at least with respect to Afghanistan.

Because Kabul in 2003 ratified the Rome Statute--the ICC's founding treaty--all soldiers on Afghan territory, even those from nontreaty countries, fall under the ICC's oversight, Mr. Ocampo told me. And the chief prosecutor says he is already conducting a "preliminary examination" into whether NATO troops, including American soldiers, fighting the Taliban may have to be put in the dock.

"We have to check if crimes against humanity, war crimes or genocide have been committed in Afghanistan," Mr. Ocampo told me. "There are serious allegations against the Taliban and al Qaeda and serious allegations about warlords, even against some who are connected with members of the government." Taking up his inquiry of Allied soldiers, he added, "there are different reports about problems with bombings and there are also allegations about torture."

It was clear who the targets of these particular inquiries are but the chief prosecutor shied away from spelling it out.

Asked repeatedly whether the examination of bombings and torture allegations refers to NATO and U.S. soldiers, Mr. Ocampo finally stated that "we are investigating whoever commits war crimes, including the group you mentioned."

The fact that he avoided a straightforward "I am looking into possible war crimes committed by American soldiers" showed that Mr. Ocampo is aware of the enormity of crossing this legal and political bridge. Appointed in 2003 for a nine-year period, the 57-year-old Argentinian has--so far--established a record of cautious jurisprudence....

This is simply unbelievable. No strike that. It’s perfectly believable that our far left America hating "president" would go for this. These far left loons have been praying for this sort of thing for decades. From the time Hanoi Jane Fonda took a ride on a North Vietnamese tank, and John F. Kerry, who served in Vietnam, threw someone else’s medals away and lied to Congress about supposed "atrocities" that never occurred, these anti-America traitors have looked for ways to demonize the military.

For decades these petulant little communists have moaned every time America has defended itself, and the rest of the world, from evil. If there was ever any doubt in your mind, that the left hates America and wants it destroyed, this should alleviate those doubts.

Of course, we all know what the end game of this exercise is. These left wing loons want to be able to send Bush, Cheney, Rove, and the rest of the team that kept us safe after 9/11 over to the Hague. To the far left, protecting Americans is a war crime.

Make no mistake about this. Obama is a radical communist who was raised from birth by radical America hating communists. Obama’s mother and father were communists. His mother’s parents were communists. After his mother dumped him on her parents’ door step to raise, Obama was mentored by radical communist, pornographer, and pedophile Frank Marshall Davis, a Chicagoan who "lived in exile" in Hawaii.

We all know that Obama sought out the most radical dregs of society in college, as it is talked about in the book he supposedly wrote, that was actually written by terrorist Bill Ayers, the radical who bombed the Pentagon, The U.S. Capitol building, and New York City Police Headquarters, as well as other police stations, and government buildings nationwide during his tenure as founder of the ultra-violent Weather Underground terrorist group. Ayers mentored Obama, gave him work, and helped him launch his political career.

Everything Obama does, every action he takes just drips with his disdain for America, for the American people, and for the American way of life. This grotesque embarrassment has marinated in hatred for America since birth. The little Saul Alinsky communist "community organizer" has spent a lifetime working against everything that makes America the greatest nation on earth. Obama is nothing more than an ACORN/SEIU thug who somehow fooled a number of Americans, and lied his way into office.

Everything Obama does is designed to destroy the very fabric of American society as we know it. His unconstitutional plan for "health care" is nothing more than a maniacal plan to render our Constitution null and void, and give the federal government unprecedented power and control.

The American people are loudly opposed to this plan, but Obama and his communist controlled Congress couldn’t care less. It is their intentions to ram this down America’s throat no matter what.

The same thing goes for "climate change" legislation, cap and tax. Thinking people have known that "global warming" was a hoax all along. Now with proof out there that all of these so-called climate scientists have been lying all along, cooking the books, and hiding information, what is the Obama regime’s stance? Why they are now going to Copenhagen to work on a treaty, if ratified, that would cause the United States to lose it’s sovereignty as a nation to some unelected panel overseas. This of course, would be the crowning achievement for the radical left, America destroyed.

I’m not sure what it’s going to take for the American people to finally say enough is enough, and demand Obama step down and Congress change course, but if this sort of nonsense is allowed to go on much longer, we’ll be at a place where there will be no stopping this.

I know patriots look forward to 2010 with great joy and anticipation. There is a great opportunity for a huge shake up in Washington. With all of the seats in the House up for grabs, and a third of those in the Senate contested, the American people have a chance to clean house, to get a fresh start.

I have to caution everyone though, Obama and his group of thugs know this as well. Many in Congress will vote for the most criminal of legislation, knowing they will be voted out, because they have been promised high paying jobs as lobbyists and "advisers" by the democrat/communist machine. The most corrupt "president" and the most corrupt Congress in our nation’s history all have golden parachutes packed and ready to go.

We simply cannot wait for the 2010 elections. We must fight these people now. We must stop this evil in it’s tracks. If we don’t, we may very well lose America to the ash heap of history.

It’s time to choose. It’s time to fight.
